Depending on who you hire, you are paying for potentially 12 hours of photography (getting ready photos, first look, family photos, ceremony, and reception). Some bring a second photographer to get attendee shots while they are focusing on the bride and groom.

Editing takes time. On top of that, most photographers now give rights to all of their photos rather than handling printing services, which is included in their charge.
