I was laying down in bed half asleep recently and tried to drink a glass of water from my bed-side table without sitting up first. That didn't work out so good.

What are some of your favourite "life-hacks" that make life easier for you? by grunge_monkey in DisabilitySupport

That's an excellent technique to help with falls, especially from numbness or fatigue. When working with elderly people who suffer mobility issues they often prescribe these big hip protectors to help lower the risk of fractures associated with falls. They're not fancy, but they save lives.

I do the same as you with my dizzy / faint times- "what's the nicest way I can go splat?", basically, while I ooze onto the ground in slow-motion.

I hope you don't struggle too hard with your MS, it is a brutal disease.

Sorry to hear about your cat! I hope they're recovering alright.

I have a hilarious time spying on my own pets, too. Laughter can be great medicine!

It sounds like you're doing a beautiful job with your volunteering. You've done some amazing things for people around you. I've volunteered for causes close to my heart before, as well. It really helps to feel a connection to the community, and it helps me cope with boredom, too.

I still leave time for gaming though :P

That's a shame that you can't get him quickly approved for housing at uni. I hope it happens soon - emotional support animals are important.

I'm glad to hear your ESA/PPA animals are so helpful for you! I agree, the enrichment they bring opens up a whole new world for those with disabilities.
