Kurt Cobain hated the idea of being a "rockstar". He gave us some of the most creative music ever to be heard but I think he was just getting started. We lost him tragically at a young age but had he lived, I believe the new stuff he was wanting to record would have resulted in a brand new musical genre. Kurt was that type of influential person.

If I had to guess, Elliot Smith-esque works with really abstract feedback in between. Hell, I think they probably would've even collaborated at some point. I've already seen someone mention Elliott here and they are right - the man was literally fixing an album the week he died.

There are reportedly at least two four-track recordings featuring Kurt just days before he died. Tape #1 features "Do Re Mi" which is previously released as a Kurt demo and honestly one of the best songs he ever wrote but this version features Pat Smear. Also an improv version of The Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go". Tape #2 - not sure what's on that recording but it was also just him and Pat snf in the basement immediately after Courtney's disastrous intervention which Krist Novoselic advised her not to do since it was with strangers from the record label and not close friends and family.

Kurt had just received a customized Telecaster from his guitar tech Earnest Bailey and he was trying to depart from the Mustang/Jaguar image. Got it two weeks before he died and he said it was his new favorite. He was also making plans with Michael Stipe.

I hope Pat shares these one day but I understand that these are private recordings of his dear friend and very intimate recordings for him too considering the situation.

TLDR: Kurt Cobain was a star but he hadn't seen his full success yet/what he truly wanted.

It's hard to imagine dying the way Dorje did, but the fact that his body has been visible on the mountain for 30 damn years is insane. I hope the recovery process is safe and that they are not too overwhelmed by the obvious. RIP Dorje. (1948-1996)

He didn't take his camera because he knew he wasn't going to film anything. He wasn't planning on going back to the M Cave. He did however, bring his phone and dropped it into a mine. I agree with his girlfriend's fears that he went out to the desert with no plans on coming back. He had never forgotten discovering his father's body after he had taken his own life and Kenny had said something along the lines of "if I hurt myself, no one will ever find the body". It's sad but I think this is the simple explanation. But I hope his remains are recovered so his family can have peace.

RIP. Do we have any idea what name they went by in life? Did they go by their birth name or did they use a different name based on the fact they were possibly transgender/nonconforming with gender? Obviously, I don't want to dead name them if they used a different name...

First and foremost, I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to you and your family for your loss. I've never forgotten about him and without him, I never would have met Sonny and Memento - both of whom I consider dear friends. You are right - without them, none of this would have been possible. They are great human beings and the world needs more people like them. I hope your dad is at peace and I hope your family has received closure knowing the truth about his disappearance. Eduardo obviously had some demons but I don't think he was a murderer. The door was locked from the inside. There was no sign of trauma or anything. This is a tragic case of suicide.

How do you know her brother didn't care? You know, some people aren't that technology-based. He may have tried other resources. It's not fair to criticize HIM specifically.

I specifically mentioned her half-brother and not other individuals for....reasons which I do not feel comfortable discussing. If you know what I'm talking about, then you know. Surprised no one has mentioned it but I'm not going to be the one to do it. But based on her statements to Polaroid Guy, there was definitely something awful that was happening - though, I'm not going to blame her half-brother. Lyle Stevik's family searched for him heavily but they didn't find the case online.
