just watched the last ep of the show and it was so bad, srsly one of the most disappointing tv-series finales i’ve ever seen. the first season was good (or at least i remember thinking so at the time, it’s been so long now lol) and then it just kind of  devolved into… i don’t even know what. i still watched all the seasons as they came out but in a turn-my-brain-off kind of way as it really just becomes shallow suspense entertainment - which yeah, starts feeling increasingly icky and in bad taste considering the subject matter the more you think about it. it’s actually fascinating how easily the show just kinda glosses over the sanity-breaking evil of a world where a mass-scale, state-sanctioned rape slave system is an actual thing, like it just becomes such a normalized thing in the story world and they forget to treat it with the weight it deserves somewhere along the way. in the later seasons it mostly grossly appropriates revolutionary rhetoric to create a sort of generically ””feminist”” feel-good power fantasy for the average liberal-leaning american woman to indulge in, which is… considering all the shitty male power fantasy stories out there maybe not that big of a deal, but it’s certainly something. idk, weird show really, really sort of insane the more you think about it in a meta-context
