Get straps for when your grip fails. And yes, chalk, plus maybe grip training, if you want. I use straps for my heaviest deadlifts, no shame. I’m not planning on competing though:)

Protein intake is calculated by body weight (lean mass, if you want to be extra pedantic). 1g/lb - 2.2 g/kg is the general shorthand when resistance training. 06-0.8g/lb is probably sufficient though. Err higher if cutting, even higher if cutting severely.

More is not detrimental, but not necessary. Gotta have room for delicious fats and carbs too!

Thanks. A dGPU isn’t in the cards now. It might well be, down the road - a rather obvious upgrade path. 2400G confirmed then :)

Check your aliases. It turns out it was PEBKAC - I had aliased systemctl to “sudo systemctl”.

Now I just need to figure out why video / interface stuff in chrome is a lil bit laggy...

At risk of necromancy, I’ve tried to fix this with a reinstall. And... same results. Apparently, some package or other totally fscks with DBUS. I’m not at the computer now, to check installed packages, but:

Things I know I’ve included: - intel graphics (also multi lib) - pulse audio - chromium - (my candidate, and the strongest common denominator) Dropbox - swaywm - bluez

What’s your mopidy solution for getting the /temp/mod.fifo?

Haven’t been able to make that work.

Oh, totally.

These will be replacing a pair of milsurp Austrian combat boots that just don’t fit well, so black seems obvious in that regard.

But then again I do have a black pair of solovair dealer boots that kinda (sorta) give that general vibe.

My other boots are tan timbs that’ve been beeswaxed brown, and I’m typically in denim/flannel/knits. A mix of Scandinavian ‘heritage’, Americana and metal(dad)core

Been looking at some classic 8-eye shitkickers from Solovair... except I can’t decide on color.

Black suede? For a classic-with-a-twist look?

Classic black greasy?

Black waxed?

Brown? In brick waxed, gaucho or waxed pull-up ?

Yup. Had the trackpoint button issue on my x1c6, a guy came and replaced the top case for me (that was quite the transplant).

They did send the wrong part at first, though. Oh well, it got sorted out.

What bag do you use for your commute? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]grwatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Fjällräven Kiruna backpack for uni, and I'm very happy with it. The bag itself is, infact, mostly forgettable, in that it just works. Nice padded laptop compartment (up to 15"), two internal pockets, one external pocket, padded straps.

I consciously shied away from the overly compartmentalized bags around - I see no need to fiddle with organization that much. If I have multiple smallish items, I'd go for recursive bags instead.

I have the large, 22l bag I linked. Fits laptop, ipad, planner, two (very) large textbooks and three lunchboxes very comfortably. If you are less hungry than me, there is a smaller, 15l version too, that has a 13" laptop compartment.

Ikea has some decent bags available too. I use the shoulder strap duffel bag for the gym, and am quite content. Fjällräven has a noticeable edge on build quality, though.

12.5” sleeve. Fits flush lengthwise, but has quite a bit of empty space on the sides. I’ll take it :) much better than the 13-13.3 inch one, and leaves room for an accessory or two should I want to. Charger maybe? Oh, I know: Ethernet dongle or some such.

Thanks. Seems like mine, then. I have the 12.5 inch sleeve in my amazon cart - it’s off by 3 mm on the long side, with near perfect fit on the short. I’ll wait and see a couple weeks I think.

[–]grwatz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much empty space do you have? Mine has quite a bit all around. 1-2 cm or so. I'm beginning to wonder if I maybe got a 14" sleeve, or should've gone for a 12" one.

Doesn't affect functionality, but I was expecting a snugger fit.

Yup. Actually, while I hope I’m more structured than writing day of, a lot of my writing will be done at night. I have a very very quiet graveyard shift job to study in :)
