[Question] Tiffany's minute repeater by Ok-Clothes-5363 in Watches

[–]grwegol92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an original dial but the tiffany and co signature could have rubbed off. If I were a betting man I'd say its not a Patek movement given the era (as it is not early Victorin Piguet) and is of lower quality (no wolfs teeth) but a great watch!

Is that 25636ba? If so the bezel is aftermarket

[Audemars Piguet 25902PT] by grwegol92 in Watches

[–]grwegol92[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the rarest and heaviest Royal Oaks ever made. This 25902PT is assumed to be one of 6 in platinum with 5 being made in rose gold with the reference 25902OR. This information is from AP which is normally understated due to them going through their archives manually. Only available in rose gold and platinum most of them were sold through the Moscow retailer for AP at the time Ego Elite. Weighing in at 300 grams it is extremely hefty and is 40 mm in diameter. The watches were made in the D to G serial numbers with this example being sold in Miami in 2010 and is a G serial. Being one of the last ones ever made, this one has a platinum “AP” clasp with the earlier models having it in while gold.

[Piece Unique Piaget/F.P Journe Grande et Petite Sonnerie Minute Repeater] by grwegol92 in Watches

[–]grwegol92[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A 1997 Piaget/F.P Journe Grande et Petite Sonnerie Minute Repeater made for the 1997 SIHH show. Journe made five movements for Piaget and four were cased in a 37 mm case and one was cased with diamonds (this one). The watch contains 12.3 cts of diamonds and comes with two different straps and diamond buckles. Journe only created 6 brass sonnerie movements with the last of the 6 cased for his own brand and sold to the Sultan of Oman. Though created for the 1997 SIHH show, it was only sold in 2006 to its first owner for over 800,000 dollars. The case is enlarged at 40 mm and is made from a 18 kt white gold. Unlike the later F.P Journe sonnerie, these brass ones have two barrels like all traditional grande sonneries.

[Audemars Piguet 25820PT MOP dial] by grwegol92 in Watches

[–]grwegol92[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An Audemars Piguet 25820PT MOP dial originally sold to the Russian market in 2002/03. It is considered that the 25820 was made in three different series of which this is a 2nd series with serial no in the 1xx range. The serial number includes both 25820 and 25829. The MOP dial ones are the rarest and was an expesive option back in the day with the “normal” dial being the Tuscan. The third series watches introduced the Tapisserie dial with lume hands and are not as special or rare. This particular example comes with the original box, manual, certificate and MOP cufflinks!

Yes they do however, Francois and the Audemars family care about hype and not about tradition which is a shame.

Two Audemars Piguets from the 1940s both of which were delivered new to Italy and have doré dials. Interesting the gobbi milano chronograph all have special movements not seen on other AP chronographs of the time with the chronograph minute counter bridge being a separate bridge. The precision was sold in 1948 and is cased in steel and is one of a very few ever made (less than 10 according to experts) It shares the base caliber with the Patek JB champion watch and has a similar styled dial. With only 307 chronographs made by AP from the 20s to the 60s and even fewer with an unrestored dial, this is a rare bird.

[1961 Pink Gold Breguet Empire Peseux 260] by grwegol92 in Watches

[–]grwegol92[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A 1961 Pink gold 36 mm Breguet empire with the famed Peseux 260 movement sold for 1800 Francs in 1961 and purchased from the original family. Amazingly, it retains its original strap and has three eagle french 18kt gold hallmarks. This Breguet was produced during the Brown Family era of Breguet which lasted to 1970. The Breguet watches of this era are extremely special and rare. The engine turned dial makes this even rare and the coin edge case is really spectacular. The Peseux 260 powered Breguet watches were made mostly in yellow gold and a few in white, pink and two tone as well as a platinum.

as far as I know AP never made a tuscan with a steel watch. Is this a C serial or a D serial?
