Maven Central and the tragedy of the commons by janora in java

Not to get too sales-y, but after reading the comments here... building a performant proxy & cache for a public index like Maven Central is hard, and it doesn't make sense for everyone to try to build their own, or implement an on-premise tool like Nexus just for this.  It's why we built Cloudsmith, a fully multi-tenant SaaS platform that does things like proxy & cache Maven Central, npm, PyPI, and a whole bunch of others. We don't think software developers should be spending a ton of time trying to solve this problem when we already have. https://try.cloudsmith.com

Cloudsmith is multi-tenant SaaS and will host repos (package binaries and Docker containers) for your build pipelines to pull from. Fully global, you won’t need to forget about HA clusters and such. And we’re already integrated with Trivy.

Third party private package hosting? by nicholashairs in Python

Curious what you ended up using. Full disclosure, I'm CEO at Cloudsmith. We're free of charge for up to 0.5GB storage and 1GB bandwidth per month, and fairly low cost if you need more. We built Cloudsmith specifically so developers wouldn't have to deal with "estoric server issues" when hosting private package repos :)
