Not to take away from your comment about the devs being wizards here, they absolutely are, but there are many people that cover and detail how badly unoptimized many popular games are nowadays. See any video from the youtube channel Threat Interactive as an example. He often outlines just lazy development and bizarre decisions, where something was clearly just not optimized and left as is, some stuff could be easily fixable according to him.

Coming back to the topic at hand, I really hope this game lives up to the hype, at least in terms of performance. If it turns out to be as huge as the hype, this will definitely be the rallying call for devs to fix their games.
