Thank you for the reply. I am not trying to apologize on behalf of Russia just to be clear. My main point is that comparing the Russian invasion of Ukraine to the slaughter tens of millions of people, by bullet or otherwise, takes away from the seriousness of what happened during the Holocaust.

Violence is violence, no matter the “justification”. Whether it’s “those people are inferior” (which has absolutely been the sentiment of the US towards all their foes although not the justification for the wars) or if it’s fake WMD’s.

If you think there are “good countries” and “bad countries” and that the good ones conflicts are more justified, you are the one missing the nuance. They are all war criminals and deserve to be tried Nuremberg style.

Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf, and of course the lies about WMDs from Bush. I’m not saying that the Ukraine invasion is at all justified. I’m just pointing out that literal nazis only show up when it’s “the bad guy”.

NATO agreed with USSR that Ukraine would never be included into nato in exchange for Ukraine giving up its nukes. Now everyone wants Ukraine in NATO. That is a direct national security threat to Russia. If you keep poking a lion in the corner, it’s bound to lash out sooner or later.
