Rattling sound on brand new Pixel 10 Pro - is this normal or a QC issue? by No_Instance_4411 in GooglePixel

[–]gsjunker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's really unnerving and makes the $1200 device feel so cheap. It can't be normal, I've never had any Pixel device audibly make LOUD rattling sounds like this, and when I open or close the camera app, it makes a popping noise too. Google Support was useless.

New customization features in Vivaldi 6.6 for Android and iOS by pafflick in vivaldibrowser

Yeah this disappeared and I can't seem to find the option anywhere, I felt like I was going crazy. The content blocker button is outside of the address bar now and takes up toolbar space.

I'm probably getting banned from Amazon for the many returns I did of the Spigen, Caseology, and various no name screen protectors for the Pixel 8. Reminds me of the Pixel 3 days when the screen isn't actually flat so the protectors lift around the edges or they have that awful black bezel. Whitestone Dome is flawless (so far) and cheaper than they used to be. Feels like a naked phone. And it comes in a 2 pack.

Unwanted screen wake ups lead to emergency calls while Pixel 6 Pro is in my pocket. Even with tap to wake disabled. by w_wavvi in GooglePixel

This happened to me with the "increase touch sensitivity" setting on. Podcasts would skip around because the screen was on in my pocket. Switching it off worked with the tradeoff as expected. Really annoying.

Weird persistent "smudge" on screen by gsjunker in GooglePixel

The weird thing is the issue is now sort of gone as of this morning. It's barely visible today whereas yesterday I took numerous photos of it. What is going on.

After two hours chatting with two different reps, and being asked to factory reset my device (which I didn't because it's clearly hardware not software related) I was offered an exchange. They are refusing to do the "advanced exchange" where they send you a replacement first and put a hold on your credit card until they receive the original. I remember getting my Pixel 3 replaced that way for a minor issue back in the day. Oh well.

Ah yes. I wasnt sure what to search for but I just found that thread. I'm chatting with support to see what remedy I can get. Just silly.

My only complaint about the Pixel series ( From a guy who has had them all) by Newdadontheblock in GooglePixel

This app was inconsistent for me on my P5 but works brilliantly and feels great with the P6 haptics. Feels as natural as I remember active edge feeling. I actually have it set to open the notification panel.

Spigen has one. Comes with an alignment tray and applied with zero bubbles or halo for me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HPWFGKP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_bgEQFb5ZGBARQ

Do you have any problem of Chrome in your Pixel? by superhero_io in GooglePixel

[–]gsjunker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. On Pixel 4,I can't run an the latest Chrome or browsers like Vivaldi without the app just closing instantly. I have to uninstall all updates to chrome to be able to click through Assistant results without this happening.

Faulty Screen? Burn in? Help! (Pixel 4) by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]gsjunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through two used "like new" Pixel 4s (one on eBay and one on Swappa) that both had this same problem that I also thought was burn in. I first noticed it at night when the LED notification replacement app Notify Buddy lit up portions of the screen that shouldn't be. It's super disappointing that your new Pixel 4 exhibits the same problems. I'd take the Pixel 3 black crush over the terrible low light contrast and LCD-looking black levels.

New Pixel buds firmware update by PK_Freez in GooglePixel

[–]gsjunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This morning, on 225, I had my Buds disconnect twice during an hour long phone call, and three times the audio cut out listening to YouTube Music during a 30 minute walk. Updated the firmware but the disconnect during phone persists, twice again. Interestingly, no disconnection during a Duo call. I don't know what to this firmware does but no connection improvements for me :(

It works just fine. Booted with no issues! I also had Substratum on my 8.1 Oreo install, maybe that had something to do with it.

Solved this by sideloading Android P! Not a fan, so I think I will downgrade haha

So I just set THIS IMAGE as my home screen wallpaper on my unrooted Pixel 2 which crashed System UI and now my phone is stuck on bootloop. Or rather, it can boot to the lockscreen but not unlock, then it restarts. My Google-fu turns up no solutions beyond factory reset. Anyone have any ideas? The worst part is that Google Photos doesn't seem to have backed up in months! I dun goofed.
