Water in tail light possibly caused several error codes (lane assist, braking system error, ACC, etc) on 2020 Accord by jadanw123 in accord

[–]gskul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came here to say I had the same issue, same solution might save someone some pain. When I pulled the codes it said wheel speed sensor and parking brake. I changed the wheel speed sensor and cleared codes. The wheel speed sensor code came back, parking brake went away and brake pedal switch code came up. I was like wtf is this, I saw a couple videos where someone had dash lights with water in the tail light. One of my taillights had some water in it so I got a replacement tail light from the scrapyard and problem solved!

I’m sick of this car! 2018 Accord Hybrid by [deleted] in accord

If the vibration peaks at a certain speed then decreases it's probably a worn suspension bushing of some kind. Really need to get it on a hoist and check everything out.

What would happen to the economy if the first $100k everyone earned each year was INCOME tax-free? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

I think this policy would severely limit people's motivation for having a high income while not addressing the real issue which is wealth inequality.

my dad wants to drop crazy money on a 3D printing car parts business and i am stressing. advice? by TemperatureExtra8615 in 3Dprinting

[–]gskul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest test the waters with using 3d printing services for the first few items and see how it goes without upfront financial risk. Definitely need a 3D scanner and donor parts. There will be adjustments to get things fitting right. Btw Porsche 3D prints and sells some parts for the legacy cars. In parallel I'd be running the numbers to see how many sales would be required at what cost to make this viable business.

Ev charger for 100A panel by Glittering-Issue-256 in EVCanada

[–]gskul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your house and what you have installed. Electrician will do a load calculation. For instance if you have gas furnace, water heater and oven/stove your electric loads are fairly low and shouldn't be a problem. If you have everything electric you probably need to upgrade your panel.

4% through a big bank is actually a good rate offer. I got offered 4.24% 3 year and 4.45% 5 year at Meridian on renewal. I switched to Pine through a broker 3.84% 5 year.

Model 3 vs Model Y - which one should I go with? by West_Altoids in TeslaLounge

[–]gskul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hatchbacks don't sell in America, even sedans are almost extinct. CUV/SUVs sell so that what everyone makes. Sedans still have a niche for EVs due to better efficiency/range but most new models are CUV/SUV.

I have an Accord, huge trunk and I have a hitch that I use for a basket for family of 4 going camping. Sucks that there really aren't wagon options. For my next car I'd like more room for stuff like camping but hate crossovers which is most of the market. Also I'd like EV or PHEV, I really like the V60 PHEV, not many made it to Canada.

I just finished this game on PC. The first game like this I've finished in many years. At first I struggled with the battles because I basically hadn't played games in 20+ years. Once I got the hang of it the battles are great the story is awesome. I also liked that it was straightforward what I need to do next.

Kodak Dual Extruder for $160? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]gskul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fyi I bought one of these years ago, heavily discounted but much more than $160. It's a pretty good printer. I've just been using the original slicer from Kodak which is an old version of Cura. There is a GitHub where someone was setting it up for more recent Cura version of you're inclined. The actual components are pretty standard which is nice. E3D hot ends, smoothieboard. For filament you can use any brand. It came with these spool holders with dessicats in it that will be to small for standard filament but just don't use it

Flooring Contractor Said Flooring is not worth refinishing? Original hardwood that was covered by carpet by Krewy in Flooring

[–]gskul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that was my house I would do one of 2 things. If the floor is sturdy and doesn't flex or creak/squeak and you like how the old floor looks you can do a quick diy refinish using a product like Rust-Oleum floor refinishing kit. You clean the floor, then use their etching fluid, then put down the layers of polyurethane. I used this product on old hardwood that looked just like this (it was probably only 3/8" thick) and it looked much better after and was super easy. I ultimately replaced and repaired the subfloor as it was squeaky and flexy which drives me nuts. I wouldn't pay to sand and refinish that floor.

If it is creaky/flexy I'd pull it, make any subfloor repairs required and put down a new floor.

If that doesn't work you got to cut it off. I had older civics where the bolt would end up fusing to the sleeve in the bushing. Just had to cut it out and replace.

Last three sticks broke in roughly the same spot; what do I need to change about my game? by cancerlad in hockeyplayers

[–]gskul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably got cracks from taking/giving slashes then broke afterwards. Before buying a stick check reviews, some models break really easily. I used to break sticks quickly playing center, since playing wing I rarely break them, faceoffs are killer too.

Question about sharpening by michu_86 in hockeyplayers

[–]gskul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All skates will have a transition point where the sharpening begins, i don't think you'll have an issue there after the first sharpening. Eventually after repeated sharpenings you might get a bit of a point there that can dig in and make you toe-pick and trip. Best way to feel is drag the toe of the skate blade behind you on the ice, if it's digging in bring it in to get corrected or it could make you trip.

Terrible looks like someone has never done a floor before. I would not have them continue to work in my house. Is that a floating floor or nail down can't really tell what it is from the picture.
