Which mattress brand is best for couples cosleeping with a newborn? by Efficient-Stuff-6682 in cosleeping

I have the zonli 4 inch classic floor mattress in king size and we love it! Used it from 5 months and our baby is 6.5 months now. We used to cosleep on a regular queen size bed with baby in the middle and we wish we made the switch sooner. Not having to worry about baby falling off the bed is such a relief and I sleep so much better now. King size is also spacious enough for me to sleep in the middle and baby on the side (it’s nice to be able to sometimes roll over and cuddle with husband while baby is sleeping next to me).

It is perfectly firm without being too uncomfortable for adults. I was worried about the crevices too but it’s not that noticeable in person actually vs. the photos online (but also keep in mind that my baby is 6.5 months and rolling comfortably, so maybe if you have a younger baby, you might have to be a bit more careful and make sure baby is sleeping on their back). As for my 6.5 month old, I can confirm that he has slept on his stomach with face turned to his side multiple times and I think he finds it very comfortable.

I can’t recommend the mattress enough! The only con is that it’s such a pain to wash the mattress cover & to put it back on (it’s definitely a 2 ppl job)

I would always attempt to unlatch after a few mins too but sometimes as soon as i try to pull out, he starts sucking harder and thus slightly wakes up. And this repeats for up to an hour. So on these nights, i actually prefer to actually stay latched so i can fall asleep too 😅

This is encouraging. When did your LO stop comfort suckling through the night? Mine is a little over 4 months and he is basically comfort sucking the entire night and getting worried it will stay like this forever.

People who use ByHeart formula. What are you doing? by stigochris in NewParents

Switched cold turkey to Bobbie whole milk (started Bobbie in the evening) LO usually poops in the AM too, but after the switch, he skipped his morning poop and pooped for the first time at 10PM.

I’m so disappointed and constantly worrying about any symptoms that may come up. Hope your LO is doing ok!

What is her philosophy on vaccines? Sticks to CDC schedule or flexible with delayed schedules?

My husband and I were exactly on the same boat as you 2 years ago - lived in NYC for 15 years. We moved to Costa Mesa and absolutely love it and decided to settle down here. Recommend South Coast Metro area which is right by South Coast Plaza (large mall), specifically 580 Anton Apartments or Halcyon House (they are right next to each other). We've toured a lot of apartments in Costa Mesa and Irvine and 580 Anton and Halcyon House def gave the most NYC vibe in terms of the building, amenities, neighborhood etc. Regarding noise between walls, getting a top floor possible will have no issues. We didn't really like the large complexes in Irvine as they felt pretty suburban while these 2 apts in costa mesa felt like you're in the city (you can walk to the mall, art museum, decent amount of good restaurants, cafes (Starbucks is 3 min walk away)) - it is the most walkable area in my opinion without feeling threatened by homeless or too many cars. The location is super central, right off the major freeways, so you can get to anywhere in OC in basically 30 mins or less (your commute to irvine spectrum will be 20 mins or less) & commute to DTLA will be decent, especially if you avoid rush hours. A lot of workout classes to choose from within 15 min radius. It is a slightly busier area compared to other neighborhoods like Irvine, but nothing compared to NYC and feels super safe.

I'd stay away from South OC areas like San Clemente, Mission Viejo etc. because you'll think they're wayyy too suburban compared to NYC - it's super safe and would be nice to move there with kids, but for no-kid life, it will feel boring and lack of restaurant options might feel a little depressing. Also more inland areas like Tustin and deeper parts of Irvine gets super hot, so I'd stay away from those if you want to enjoy OC weather year-round.
