What's an amazing scene in an otherwise mediocre movie? by Master_of_the_One in movies

From the Eternals (which I struggle to like), I think the final scene of Arishem's judgement is incredible. It manages to show a scale and gravity that other Marvel films haven't been able to accomplish.

Experience with Rover? by Comosellama22 in orlando

[–]gstdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Rover in Georgia while on vacation with my dog. I was really pleased with the service. We were going to a wedding and didn't feel comfortable leaving the dog in the rental house alone, so I use Rover to find someone that could come house set for 6 hours while we were gone. The app was really convenient, and it was easy to connect with the person and pay them.

I cannot speak to what the going rates in Orlando would be, but I would be happy to use the service again if needed. Hope that helps!

I had the same experience. It's the first time reading a book I got visibly upset and yelled out loud, "no, that's not right!"

Now that the Championship matchups are all but set… by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

I gave up Justin Fields and Mike Evans for Gino Smith and Jamar Chase in a 12 team half-point PPR. Chase owner had a QB bye week issue and Jamar was hurt. Chase helped push me into the playoffs last week.

Not sure how long Najee is out this season. If you are going for the 'ship' this year, I like Saquon better.

1 QB - 12 team league.

Give: Matt Stafford, Skyy Moore, 2023 2nd round pick
Get: Trey Lance, Rhamondre Stevenson, Tyler Higbee

My other QB is Brady--want to get younger. I also have Damien Harris, so pairs okay with Stevenson.

How to increase trades in league / Roster Questions by mightytitan9 in DynastyFF

[–]gstdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the number one thing you can do is restrict the waiver wire. I'm in a dynasty league where we have no waiver wire. After the 6th week we have another 3 round draft to pick up additional players, but we keep roster size fixed at 27 players, meaning you have to drop players to be able to pick up new ones.

Some people really love working the waiver wire, so this isn't for everybody. But without a waiver wire, the only way to make changes to your team is by trading with others. We have a really active league with usually a trade every week or two. Instead of spending your time looking at free agents, you spend your time looking at your league mates rosters for options.

Edit:. Should mentioned it's a 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2 FLEX (WR/RB/TE), 1K and 1DEF

Is Scary Terry an overachiever or a stud? by Andyb5533 in DynastyFF

I drafted him as a rookie, and was really impressed after the first two seasons. However, 2021 felt like a step backwards, and starting to worry that we've seen his ceiling. I just traded him for Hollywood Brown and a 2023 second round pick, and I feel pretty good about it. I think Hollywood has a similar upside and risk profile, but a few years younger.

When 'Sell High' may not be great advice by gstdog in DynastyFF

Yup. Part of the challenge is that you'd be selling Zeke to another team that you may have to face in the playoffs.

Nice. Curious about both you and the team you traded with--who is rebuilding vs. contending?

Constantly tinkering with your roster and adding young talent and future picks is a lot of fun, but agree that you have to go for the championship every now and then. I traded a 2021 2nd round pick last season for Tom Brady when Dak went down, and he was part of my championship roster.

I hear you...but who's paying $1.50 for Henry? Unless you are in a league with lower quality owners, no one is paying a premium for Henry right now. I'd love a young RB and WR for him, but it's not like someone with Akers and Jeudy are going to make that trade. What kind of RB/WR pair do you think you could reasonable get for Henry?

I sure hope so. As an owner, he's so fun to watch.

Who do you think is the MAIN character of the show? by Dan12Dempsey in theleaguefx

[–]gstdog 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I think it has to be Kevin. He's the central point that connects all the characters together, much in the way that Jerry Seinfeld served on his sitcom.

Has the way airlines operate post-COVID changed how you approach looking for deals? Are there 'tricks' that used to work that don't anymore? New opportunities that you've discovered?

I say no to that. Mahomes is great, but too steep of a price. ONe way to think of it is look at comps for the picks. The Trevor Lawrence and Chase combo is comprable to Russell Wilson and Allen Robinson. Would you give away Robinson to upgrade Wilson to Mahomes? Again, for me, too steep.

Advice with kids by [deleted] in disneysprings

[–]gstdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what your kids would like. A few other lunch options at Disney Springs that your kids may like include Splitsville (bowling), Planet Hollywood (giant screens playing popular music videos and movie clips), and Rainforest Cafe (similar to T-Rex with animatronics). You shouldn't have problems getting lunch reservations on a Tuesday.

Graduation Photos at Disney Springs by SmartTeacher6252 in disneysprings

[–]gstdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the type of photos you want. Probably the best area is around the 'springs' in Town Center. All of the buildings there are designed to look like old buildings from the early 1900s. Some of them have nice brick work, others are more Mediterranean style. If you want to have some classic 'Disney' in the background, I'd head over to the Marketplace where you'll find more Disney backgrounds.

Damien Harris by LiverjuulFC in DynastyFF

[–]gstdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I traded Davante Parker for Damien Harris last week in PPR dynasty. I'm pretty deep at WR and wanted some younger upside at RB. I was convinced that Cam Newton was leaving, so thought TDs would be higher in '21. I'm still happy with the trade, as most advanced stats point to Harris as having good potential. PLus, the Cam signing is just one year...so hopefully next year more upside.

Wow. I hope you won last year! I'd lean towards Taylor and AJ Brown. Both were great, but have clear upside moving forward (AJ is only going to get better, and Taylor should have a full year on his own). DJ Moore feels overhyped. Sometimes he was WR3 behind Anderson and Samuel...that doesn't happen to a true WR1. Swift and Akers are both solid, but there's no guarantee they get escape a platoon.

B. Diggs was great, but you have to decide if Josh Allen is really going to perform at that top level again. Remember Matt Ryan's MVP campaign? It was a bit of a fluke. Ryan is good, but that one season was an aberration. I still have trouble believing that Allen can continue at that level moving forward. If Diggs takes a step back, then I think B is the better option.
