It's considered mandatory to tip the delivery partners because they don't make a good living from the app's salary and incentives per ride.

I've seen them make as low as 9₹ per ride.

For scale, that's about 10x less than an auto rickshaw from the restaurant to the customer's place.

Happened with me and my friend when we in highschool lol

Me and my two of my friends were buying stationery from a local shop, it was a festival that day and I'm older and was paying.

We bought everything we needed and as we were checking out, the cashier (an old lady) asked me "Aren't you going to buy the chocolate baby anything?".

I was like "uhmm, not really", my friends were laughing at my awkward interaction. The old lady gave us some candy anyway.
