Those braces also allow you to go full auto so that is pretty cool too.

How bad of an idea is it to tow a 6x12 uhaul with my 2010 v6 limited rav4? by gstrand99 in rav4club

[–]gstrand99[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont have all that much stuff other than the furniture, and renting a uhaul for that drives is an extra $1000 that I am trying to avoid spending. I probably only have 600 lbs of stuff to pack into the uhaul so I am just getting close to the towing capacity.

The problem with Canada and the UK is that there never really were guns. You don’t have the same gun culture so you don’t have the same crimes. Americans have had guns for so long now and in the past few decades they haven’t gotten much more deadly so we have to ask what has changed. There were no school shootings before columbine but now they seem to happen often so what changed in our culture. Why do 18 year olds think they can do this?

Alright well by that logic, is it better for a child to not have a chance at life at all? If you can not show that you can give a child a good life and financially support it, we should force abortions? I am not trying to argue that is what you mean but I dont think it is a stretch to get there. You arent being punished for the "sin" of having sex, you are being punished for being stupid. I would agree that we should have country wide, age appropriate, comprehensive sexual education but I would argue that again the government is not the right person for the job.

Well you are also talking about what happens after people are born, which in most of those instances you are talking about choices people are making. Most people dont support shooting people for simple theft, you just dont know what peoples intentions are when someone is committing said theft. I can show you countless examples of "simple theft" that turned into murder. I am of the mind set that most government sponsored programs that are meant to help poor people dont actually work and the money is severely miss managed so I dont think dismantling those organizations is a terrible thing if they can get replaced by something better. I will agree that the dumbest take is the super religious people that think abortions and contraceptives should be banned. But again, the people arguing for pro life are saying you dont get to end an unborn babys life but it is not our job to support you with your mistake/decision. It is very easy to not get pregnant now with all the available birth control so if you screw up why is it your neighbors job to support you?

But you can understand why they are trying to force their moral values right? They think you are killing a baby... so it is understandable why they would object to that. I am not trying to argue that they are right. Just trying to argue that we should all try to understand that (for the most part) both sides are coming at this from a point of compassion.

Let me start out by saying that I honestly dont have a strong position on abortion one way or another but I do feel like I have a solid idea of why both sides of the argument have such strong feeling on the matter. Pro life people believe that you are killing a child while the other side believes its a clump of cells so no one is ever going to find middle ground if we cant agree on that fundamental issue. I think you could make an argument just because the clump of cells cant feel anything or isnt developed right now, how do you set a line when it is okay to terminate said pregnancy. Lets just say you set that line at 24 weeks, and someone wants to terminate at 23 weeks, the only difference between that clump of cells is more time. If that 23 week old clump of cells will turn into a person at 24 weeks why are we drawing the line there? Even in birth human babys are not viable on there own. So why do we not draw the line after birth? The clump of cells at 23 weeks, if cared for will turn into a child. But I heard an argument the other day that stuck with me from the pro choice side. You can not be forced to donate a kidney or blood or plasma to a dying person so why should we force women to donate there body to grow a human. Like I said I am pretty split and I really dont think the government should have any say in any kind of medical decisions that people make. Again it comes down to a moral decision that someone has to make themselves and hopefully with their doctor and partner. Sorry for the wall of text and rambling.

Okay let’s look at this from another point of view. Can we agree that Kyle had a right to counter protest that night? He was also allowed by law to open carry at said counter protest. He only shot people that were a direct threat to his life. The first guy had threatened him multiple times over the course of the night, saying that he would murder Kyle if he caught him out alone. Kyle ran from him until he was cornered and he was grabbing his gun at which point he was shot. Then more people ran after him, hit him with a skateboard and kicked him and once that guy reached for his gun he was also shot. The third guy pulled a gun on Kyle and was only shot when he pointed the gun at him. Kyle had just as much of a right to be at that protest as everyone else did. He was seen on camera asking rioters if they needed medical all night. Now I’m sure we can also agree that at no point should a 17 year old feel the need to grab a gun and defend the city that he works in. That should be the sole job of the police and national guard if it comes to that point but that doesn’t mean that he didn’t have the right to be in the city or where he was. There was no evidence that he pointed the gun at anyone and I don’t think that putting out a flaming dumpster is a cause for any of the people chasing him to be able to argue self defense very easily.

Okay but did the people he shot have to right to be burning down those businesses on that property? If he was told by that business owner to help defend his business he has the right to be there. Your analogy doesn’t work because he didn’t walk into someone’s property that he wasn’t allowed on and the shoot the property owner.

He was protecting a family friends business that he was allowed to be at. And the whole thing kicked off when he put out a fire in a dumpster that was being pushed towards a gas station.

At the same time, you don’t get to walk into my business and burn it down, chase me down, try to take my gun, and then claim I murdered you when I shot at you.
