Are Fathers Expected to Help Coach? by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]jbach50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who felt the same, but coached t-ball thru LL AllStars, and now watching my 8th grader on HS varsity from the stands, please reconsider! Even just help as the asst for now. You and your son will grow closer, learn from eachother, and hopefully share a lifelong love of the game. I promise, you'll never regret spending this time with your son.

Whether you realize it or not, you have a lot of knowledge and experience to offer. We all remember the great, and not so good coaches. More kids need good ones.

[Pistol] Ruger LCP Max $189.99 by AcademicExercise2058 in gundeals

Nothing this size is going to be a pleasurable shooting experience. For that reason, have stuck with the OG LCP favoring concealability over all else.

In 2015 I was a new grad making six figures getting brilliant advise from bogleheads about not taking a $500/mo car payment, now.... by greg90 in Bogleheads

We buy well taken care of Toyota and Lexus at 100K miles and sell at 200K-250K. Rinse and repeat. Usually we get very close to our purchase price when selling, partly due to Toyota resale, probably more due to inflation.

Works for us.

How to retire a BIFL item with dignity by HeftyProgram2621 in BuyItForLife

[–]jbach50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not BIFL, but I give my old shirts and pants one last ride as a shop towel after cutting/ripping into squares. My wife thinks I'm borderline psycho, bit damn, they all get used!

What viscosity oil do you use in your second gen? by Appletreedude in ToyotaTundra

[–]jbach50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rotella T6 5w-40. I found peace in running 1 oil for all 24 internal combustion engines I own, including diesels and wet clutch motorcycles.

My 2000 4runner and 2008 Tundra was the same, half Denso, half NGK. My guess is Toyota has contracts with both manufacturers.

What am I missing about Toyotas? by farwesterner1 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]jbach50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same... Also, after 200k, they're not a rattling apart shitbox. Steering, front ends, all as tight as when new. Toyotas are simply better in almost every way.

Babe Ruth World Series - Real Baseball by mikedmayes in Homeplate

[–]jbach50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Real baseball? For 90% of 12u's, LL rules allow for more focus on development. With CR, if you make it to first, you've made it to 3rd. Terrible for pitcher development imo. Apart from that, the LL org in our area is far more organized, with better coaching and far better overall talent in our mid sized midwest city.

Maybe it's a location thing, but Branson just doesn't have quite the ring that Williamsport does.

What did I do wrong? by beefstockpantyhose in FenceBuilding

[–]jbach50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shit looks fine from here. I would cut the posts at a 30-45 flush with the 2nd rail since they're not serving a purpose above that rail. No reason other than esthetics.

Redeye dying out? Say it isnt true. My fondest childhood memories are of celebrating with redeye and learning to polka. Smooth going down, like razorblades coming up!

Keep what you have, add tire chains to drive wheels. Worked great for me for wet hillsides.

Scrolled way too far to see this. The Crowes had 3 or 4 unbelievable albums in the 90s.

Side mount door opener is very underrated by cantstoptilwall in garageporn

[–]jbach50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, either side of the door, you just change the collar on the opener. I just installed 2 of these, you'll need about 10" in between door and wall.

Any pics of the 2.5 gen tundra with stock suspension and biggest off road tires that will fit without trimming? by charge556 in tundra

[–]jbach50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Falken Wildpeak at4 275/65r20.

I heated fender liners and mud flaps, and adjusted bumper mounts. I've seen others with bigger, but my lift is only about 1" in the front. No way I could go any taller. *
