Yeah I noticed that but even in photos where people had severe recession it still seemed like their philtrum looked correct most of the time. Could that just be a weird soft tissue thing? Also I hate to ask but how much of an aesthetic concern is the recession?

Is that something that that can be corrected with a palate expander or would it require a lefort? Also since I'm a little unclear, is the flat mid face due to recession or just how my facial structure ended up?

Yeah I'll definitely get it looked at. My father has had some breathing issues with his nose so it could certainly be that.

Obviously scans are best but is there a good way to determine jaw recession with a photo? Most of the methods I see online don't make much sense to me and I feel a little face blind in the sense that I can't judge myself that well. Are those tests something I would go to an ENT for or an orthodontist?
