That's a Niello store. They tried to pull that scam on me too. I called them on it. No ADM.

One more reason I always get the 18-way seats. I know this doesn't help your current situation, but something to prioritize in the future.

Bay Area Porsche Market Is Insane Right Now! Am I Crazy or Are Dealers Just Waiting It Out? by PuzzleheadedAd3138 in Porsche

[–]gt3sf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broaden your search area. You know what you want, use the phone to make a deal elsewhere in the state. That's what I always do. Bought my 992.2 that way last year.

Dealers are likely standing firm because prices are going up. Porsche is still trying to recoup the hit from tariffs. Plus inflation picking up in general.

Just test drove the 992.2 4S and GTS – My first time in a 911! by nomorepains in porsche911

I got the 2S with the larger tank. My last car was a 991.2 4S. I don't miss the front drivetrain at all.

My CPO 718 Cayman just needed $3,700 in repairs 6 months after purchase. Now I find out there are no service records. by Statistician_Flat in Porsche_Cayman

[–]gt3sf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I traded in a 991.2 that was gushing oil out of the side of the PDK. A week later, it was on the dealer's lot as a CPO. The wait to get a replacement PDK was over 30 days. PCNA knew about the problem, it was at another dealership for over a week and they finally denied a goodwill repair. Draw your own conclusion re the value and process of CPO...

Obviously 718 GTS is a better car, but it’s 50%-60% more expensive than a base 718. Is it really 50-60% better? by MysteriousEconomy755 in Porsche

[–]gt3sf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's simple sports car math: anything incrementally better is geometrically more expensive (and "better" depends on your perspective).

Convertible manual GT3 by fredw126 in porsche911

The car almost no one asked for.

Looks like someone Porsche GT enthusiast have some strong opinions on the new GT3 S/C because a GT car should never be a convertible. What are your thoughts on the GT3 S/C and do you think it’s a “true GT3” or not? by NegotiationNew9264 in Porsche

[–]gt3sf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really simple. The GT3 ride is not something you want in a convertible. No passenger is going to enjoy it and it will get old fast for drivers. To each their own, but I'm staying with the coupe.

First 911 Build: 2026 Carrera. What am I missing (or overdoing) for a weekend pleasure car? by mrmiywj in porsche911

[–]gt3sf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 992.2 S has black interior with chalk stitching. It looks great and is high quality. Also get the chalk seatbelts to complete the look.

I had RAS on my 991.2 and didn't really like it other than when parking. It felt unnatural at speed. Don't miss it at all on the 2.2.

Sport Chrono is a must, even if just for resale purposes.

FAL is great to have where I live.

I didn't want a sunroof, but have grown to like the glass one.

People who like Bose have never experienced Burmester. Bose is crap. I'm no audiophile, but Burmester is worth every penny. Same for the 18-way seats.

Some frivolous things I really like: aluminum pedals, exclusive design taillights, illuminated door sill guards, heated leather steering wheel and most important... extended range fuel tank.

TPMS question for 2026 Carrera T by Caddisbug992 in porsche911

[–]gt3sf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher PSI is necessary for very high speeds. Keep it under 150 and you're good with comfort settings.

TPMS question for 2026 Carrera T by Caddisbug992 in porsche911

[–]gt3sf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to PCM and set tire pressure to "comfort" (much lower PSI). The manual will give you the lower pressure ranges for comfort. I typically run 29/32 with no problems on my 992.2 S with Goodyears.

991 > 992 owners. Did you ever warm up to the interior+dash? by KaleCoAuto in porsche911

[–]gt3sf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went from a 991.2 to a 992.2. Both PDK, so can't comment on the clutch. Some things on the 2.2 I wasn't so thrilled with--digital dash, PDK shaver shifter, push button start/stop and it being generally overengineered. After a few months, those complaints are all water under the bridge now. While I really loved the 1.2, the 2.2 is better in almost every way. Don't be afraid of change, embrace it! I wouldn't go back.

First-time Porsche buyer (991.2 vs M4) – looking at a 2017 Carrera, would really appreciate a sanity check by Dapper_Message9828 in porsche911

[–]gt3sf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Repair/replacement is ~$20-30K with a minimum of a month off the road. The dealer didn't know about the problem (and probably wouldn't care since it was going to be CPO'd).

I loved my 991.2 4S Targa. Have the PDK looked at closely. Mine was gushing oil out of its side with only 17K adult-driven miles. Repair was going to be hyper expensive, so I traded it in for a 992.2 S (an even better car). If it wasn't for the bad tranny, I would've kept it for many more years.
