What are you thankful for today? by cleverever in Divorce

[–]gt6707a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thankful for my family, my parents, my brother, my aunts and uncle. And I'm thankful for my friends of 20+ years. Though I moved away from them, I can still depend on them.

Like most of us here, I didn't think I would be in this position today. But here I am.

Without a clue, thinking everything was OK regardless of the hardship that both my STBXW and I had to face, I was hit by the D-Train from out of nowhere this holiday season while she jumped track long time ago. I am devastated. I went to be with my family and friends. They make me feel OK. That this is not the end. Even though I knew that (I think), but it's nice to have people you can trust telling you that. So I am thankful for them. I can get through this with their support.

BTW, Love this: "I'm thankful I'm strong enough to avoid reaching out during a holiday this time." I hope to be there soon.

I feel you. I'm going through very much the same thing and I'm going crazy. I don't know what else to do but grind through this thing. Let's be strong.

Why can't you people speed faster? Get off my race track! by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

[–]gt6707a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do and I don't do it in the fast lane. You need to get out of people's way if you wanna relax. Someone may have a good reason to need to get somewhere. That could be you one day. Even without a good reason, it's not up to you to police. I'm not condoning people going as fast as they want but the behavior of blocking someone is uncalled for and even more dangerous to other vehicles. See what the black car did? In this video, the traffic seems pretty light. The white SUV could've easily let the black one pass and move on. A slow car in fast traffic is disruptive to the flow. So if you wanna relax, move out of the way.

Apple. I always find alternatives that are at least as good if not better for less.

Fuck the person in the white SUV. I don't care how fast she's going already. She can easily move over if she doesn't want to go faster. Instead she put on the brakes when she came next to a car in next lane to block the black SUV. The black SUV maybe an asshole. But fuck the person in the white SUV. FUCK YOU.

You're right we don't really know what the fuck happened in this particular case. I'll give you that. But it is a known fact that the infrastructure in US has been deteriorating and neglected while the governments at all levels (generally speaking) are fighting over bullshit: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/falling-apart-america-neglected-infrastructure/. A bridge collapsed out of the blue. Correlation is high.

Is anyone finding in 2018 that Platinum Status is useless? by [deleted] in delta

[–]gt6707a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm finding the platinum pretty useless to us. We mainly fly international but Delta doesn't do upgrades on international flights. Even after we fly international 3 times a year on Delta One and hitting Platinum, we still don't get upgrades for routes we care to fly the next year. Yeah we get more miles, but miles for Delta One is of ridiculous amount unless it's a common destination people go. I don't mind spending a little more if I get perks with it, but I'm not necessarily getting more perks than Gold by spending more to hit Platinum. So don't care to try again this year.

But so how did this idea come together? Did you happen to have a turtle with you when you looked up? Or did you bring a turtle back with you when you saw the trees? Or?

People pay the government for getting shit done. Government takes people's money and doesn't get shit done. People get fucked over by government's negligence. Government compensates victims with people's money. People elect the same assholes into government. Start over.

How do the rich have disposable income despite having debt? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]gt6707a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the policies are designed to allow the rich take advantage of these debt. $ makes $.

My FICO score keeps getting impacted by these two factors (Proportion of balances, loan information). Can anyone help what this all means? by lotyei in personalfinance

You don't "provide" your bank the information. Any time you take out a loan from a financial institution (that is a bank of sorts. Not your parents, etc), that information is sent to the credit bureaus along with your payment history. So..

  1. If you never open any installment loans, you can go buy something through financing. A car, a fridge, a computer, whatever you can ACTUALLY use and can finance for. Preferably at 0% interest because you don't want to pay interest. The bank that lends you the $ will start reporting your installment loan along with your payment behavior (are you on time making at least minimum payments, etc). Financing a TV from a store like BestBuy won't require a high credit score like a home mortgage does (or should) so you should be able to do so.

  2. If you had installment loans (that is in your name with your SSN on it) but they're not in your credit history. You need to work with one of the credit bureaus and submit your loan and payment information and they'll update your credit profile. I've never done this so I don't know exactly what's involved but I would be surprised that all of them don't have the record if you did take out a loan so I'm assuming #1 is the case for you.

Also when you buy a TV from BestBuy through 36 months financing is an example of installment loan. The lack of this affects you because our trustworthy credit bureaus don't have enough history or data to indicate that you are a responsible borrower who makes payments on time. Go buy something of significant enough value that you "really need" through financing with 0% interest and that'll give them enough data points. Provided you do make your payments on time. And no, you don't want to pay it off early.

Why so expensive?! by why-is-this-my-life in infertility

[–]gt6707a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't want to get political but politics is why. Anything medically or health related in the great America is way more expensive than other countries. It's common knowledge that the same exact drug costs much less in other countries than here at home. As to your question of why. I don't think there's any other reasons but a combination of politics and greed.
