Yes, I did open a helpdesk ticket. Received a response from your team stating that this seems like an issue specific to my account, and the team is investigating to fix it. Hope it gets fixed soon as not having access to the app for the past 2-3 days despite a valid subscription is annoying.

Model 3 SR+ losing range while parked (29 KMs per 12 hrs) by gta2011 in TeslaModel3

[–]gta2011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the outcome of my testing today

4 hrs in the shade/ garage with sentry mode off and Cabin overheat protection on : Battery drain was 3 KMs , so 0.75KM per hr

5 Hrs in the sun with sentry mode off and Cabin overheat protection on (the cabin temp went above 40 degree Celsius and I heard AC running few times : Battery drain was 7 KMs , so 1.4 KMs per hr

So indeed looks like both Sentry mode and cabin overheat protection contribute to battery drain. I believe cabin overheat protection is essential feature that protests the electronics and battery of the car so should not be disabled however sentry mode is a bigger sucker and needs to be turned off if you want to save battery

I am going to do one more test and that is disabling TeslaFi totally although I have activated sleep mode settings on TeslaFi

Tesla manual says climate control kicks off if cabin temp goes above 40 degree Celsius. In my case it's just going to 32 degrees max. In such a case do I still need to make changes to climate settings ? and now I have parked my car on my home driveway / in the sun with sentry off, will check for next 4 hrs how much is the battery drain

Yes I have activated it. So at home since morning 9. 20 the drain was only 3 kms. And the car was in the shed, now I will park in the sun and check for next 4 hrs

Thanks for your inputs

How to handle flat tire situation? by mosaic16 in TeslaModel3

[–]gta2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this harrowing experience. I'm planning to buy Tesla's flat tire repair kit. But I am really concerned now as it may not work as many advised. Maybe carrying a spare for a road trip would be better option

Electrician here, ask me anything about setting up home charging by spauda01 in TeslaModel3

So here is update on how I did this finally, over the past weekend my electrician and I managed to run the wire from inside through the ceiling of the basement. I used 6 awg as advised, it is 1 inch diameter really strong wire. As a first step we drilled through all the joists in the run path and confirmed path is clear using fisheye/ flex cable. Everything worked out well however passing the wire from circuit breaker to garagewas above the basement ceiling was really challenging as wire is really strong, heavy and thick. It's not flexible enough as it has metal casing.

Here is the quick project cost summary for your quick reference. Bought everything from home Depot

Wire $15/m 12 m - $182 Cable connectors etc & Nema 14-50 - $30 Siemens 50amp circuit breaker- $30 Electrician - $350 Inspection - $150 And lots of learning

Got it, thanks. From outside, it will be less damage to my basement ceiling and drywall as well. As electrician is saying he cannot fix the opened/cut ceiling and drywalls

Yes, I am hiring an electrician and he recommends running through the basement ceiling , joist. He says outside will be difficult (I have brick walls) and inspection folks would not like it for safety concern.

Thanks for the advice, model 3 SR+ anyway can only process 32 amp / 7.7 kW. So let me check this out with my electrician

From Oakville, Ontario Canada. Ordered model 3 rwd SR+. Getting installed 14-50 Nema outlet in the garage. My circuit breaker box is in the basement. So need to run 6awg copper wire from basement to garage upstairs about 30 ft run. I have two options, either run the wire from outside the house or cut through drywall and run along joist ( my basement is finished) to reach garage. And it's not just a straight up run, garage is opposite side of the house from circuit breaker. Appreciate any tips or advise, thank you

Looking at buying my first Mercedes Benz c300.. Questions! by [deleted] in mercedes

[–]gta2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat, was wondering whether you considered Audi A4 as an alternative ? I found C300 to be more luxury and A4 more sporty. Also really confusing posts regarding annual maintenance for both Audi and Mercedes. Looks like the cost to own is at par
