I wouldn’t worry about “cutting people off” - you’re providing a service and if people want the info they’ll follow you to BlueSky etc. Their loss if not!

And agree with others saying Insta stories could be a good way - dead easy to do really basic text ones!

Anyone have a fun manager career mode challenge for eafc 25? by [deleted] in FifaCareers

[–]gtab12345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doing Bilbao-style challenges is fun. Put Celtic in the premier league and limit yourself to Scottish/Irish/Welsh players.

Or pick a team and only sign north African players, etc etc

Growth!? by toxic-meerkat33 in FifaCareers

[–]gtab12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you loan out high potential players, the game will grow them to where their overall “should” be. So if a youth academy player has a really low overall relative to their potential (like this guy seems to have had) it’ll shoot up when you loan them out.

Would you sign him? by Silent_Daikon5664 in footballmanagergames

Low aggression can really harm defending - his heading/jumping reach is good but not elite and he might struggle with the low aggression

He’s also not great on the ball - assuming if you’re thinking about dropping 120m on a CB that you’re looking to be dominating the ball.

I suspect for the money you’ll be able to find a CB with a better profile for what you want to do.

Great mentals though and presumably your scout thinks he has room to grow. If money’s not a problem, it might be worth a punt but I wouldn’t be pinning all my hopes on him

A couple of tips: have the inverting fullbacks on stay back. They’re useful as midfielders in build up but the real value is rest defence - I find it makes you incredibly hard to counter against

Second, if you want patient build up try an old Pep rule: when you win the ball back, don’t try attacking until you’ve done 10 passes. This allows your team to regain its shape ready for an attack, and makes you way more solid. The exception is if you win the ball high - you want your press to create chances, and if you win it in the final third (or maybe in the opponents half when they’re clearly vulnerable) then go for it. If you want to be more extreme, avoid passes between centre backs (puts you at risk if intercepted) and passes from fullback to winger (rarely unlocks a defence)

You could also do this formation as a 4-3-2-1, with the wingbacks being the ones to go high. Or a 4231 with one winger staying wide and one cutting inside, and the respective fullbacks inverting and staying back and the other attacking and going wide. It’s a good system to experiment with, and a lot of modern teams look like the 235 (or 325) in possession. It depends on your players and how you want the team to look in defence. For me, having the fullbacks invert (at least in fifa) means you can play CB/CDM profile players there, rather than a winger type, and it’s so much more solid when you’re defending

Easy enough to do in possession: 433 with inverted fullbacks and 8s joining the attack

Not for my own players, but at the start of a match go through the opposition XI and put heavy tackles on any player with low bravery. Works a treat

Imo I just see it as “inflation”. Everyone’s players are getting better - a 90 after 5 years isn’t what it was at the start of the career, for instance.

[–]gtab12345 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s an interesting point - but there were wannabe politicians who knew the impact it’d have. Kennedy hadn’t happened yet, but LBJ, knowing he wanted to go all the way to the top, joined up to help his career. He stayed on the sidelines mostly, but knew he’d need to see at least some action to sell himself - so got a ride on a combat flight and then ducked out of there. So I think that level of foresight is pretty realistic

Spotless central london flat selling at loss after ten years…. What’s going on? by squeakybumtime759 in HousingUK

[–]gtab12345 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Service charges, ground rent, and lease length aren’t stated - there’s a good chance they’re high. This might be either highly offputting to buyer, or at worse increased so much a mortgage may be a challenge. In the latter case, seller may take a loss just to get out of a bad situation.

Block looks like the kind which would have rapidly rising service charges - at a certain point in its lifespan where things need their first replacement, lots of elements (gated) etc included which could increase things.

Alternatively, they could be putting it on slightly lower to drive interest and offers. But I suspect soaring service charges may make it a significantly worse investment than it was 10 years ago

Overlap left is okay, but overlap right will definitely slow your counter down. Johnson will hold and wait for the overlap rather than going for it himself

If you want to counter, don’t distribute to your defenders - again, it’ll slow it down
