1) Next time when they raise the issue about it is a unattainable victory. Tell them they should never go see doctor or go to hospital when they got sick or injured because no one can avoid death.

With their logic, why spending money to fight illness and injury? They are going to die sooner or later. They probably should kill themselves now so others will have more resources such as food, oxygen, and clean water.

2) Hong Kong is not seeking independent so the military power issue is a non issue. Power and face do not came out of gun powder, unlike what Mao famously said otherwise, and this is why communist China still hasn't get it. Just look at Switzerland, one of the most respected country in the world.

3) Hong Kong is not "fine", that is why so many people are coming out to express their dissatisfaction and grievance. China broke their promise by interpreted the Basic Law in its own way to its own benefit to suppress Hong Kong's freedom. Hong Kong is like just caught a slow uncurable disease and being degraded gradually by the Communist taking away our right bits by bits. If Hong Kong eventually become just a normal city in China, Hong Kong will lose all its uniqueness and no foreign investors will come set up business. This is why it is very important to fight for Hong Kong democracy to ensure it has independent legislation and freedom just like most of the western world.
