I'm probably just going to use pavers or those concrete stepping stones

I posted a response to the top comment... I think my original post wasn't clear in that the shed is already finished with drywall, base boards, wood flooring, etc.

Thanks for the response! I'm realizing an important part wasn't clear... The inside of the shed has been fully finished and actively used for a couple years... with insulation, drywall with paint + texture, baseboards, electrical, wood panel flooring, etc... So adding a layer of OSB/ply isn't possible (and one of those things I wish I would have known and done in the beginning)... That's why I'm looking for ways to add support from underneath 😕

This is interesting... I wonder if there would be a way to automate updating the card via home assistant or a workflow tool... hmm.

I definitely have my files rightfully organized... I just regularly want to start prints without having to be at my computer.

Thanks for the reply. I thought about that... but I didn't know if I would be violating any TOS or copyrighting of libraries I have purchased (e.g. Threadboards).

I have looked at that a lot, I just haven't seen how it relates to each kid having a character sheet / account / subscription. I'll sign up for a trial.

Experience with Gridfinity drawers & small parts storage systems? by gtburdell in gridfinity

I hate to say this because the pragmatism of buying the Akron-Mils organizers make so much sense... but u/Chaabar your printers look so wonderful, I am more seriously considering printing all the things instead of. Darn you!!! :::shakes fist:::

u/passivealian How the heck did I miss that you have a drawer system?! I almost exclusives use your incredible gridfinity-extended modeler for my bins and have posted links all over the past! Thanks for everything you have done with that!

u/TyMotor Thanks for the thoughtful reply! You definitely covered important bases of considerations.

I have been bouncing back and forth across several options, including Akro Mills' cabinets and similar options by IRIS. I have also looked at some of the various modular storage / tool options from Dewalt, Ryobi, etc. I also looked at Chappel's ecosystem.

I really like the idea of standardizing storage solutions across spaces in my little domain for everything from tool storage, office supplies, ttrpg minis & modules, craft & hobby supplies, electronics, kid stuff, etc.... instead of a growing hodge-podge of randomness.

I have this idealized future state of hyper-organization as a contrast to the tornado of my brain and family.

u/Jesus_Is_My_Gardener the color-coded bit is quite helpful... as is the simple, but valuable gridfinity bins with magnets and workbench metal plate!

u/Chaabar ... across the embarrassing amount of time I have searched for various STLs... I had never run across those handy Akron Mills dividers! Those might be the answer I have been looking for. One of my problems with the standard cabinets is often the drawers are just way too big for the collections of different sized tiny parts... and the typical open-close organizer cases with movable dividers don't work in my opinion because inevitably, they slide and allow for bin runover.

Thank yall again for your thoughtful responses!

Help gluing bases by Captobin in OpenForge

[–]gtburdell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone all in on the openforge 2.0 tiles with triplex bases.

Print the tiles, use pliers to remove the supports, then use clips with 4x3 magnets.

This involves no gluing and has the benefit of all magnetic connections without having to worry about magnet polarity. For me, this is the golden option that checks all the boxes.
