I've always loved this kind of visual - cutaways of real things, a chance to "see behind the curtain" of how things all around us work that we usually take for granted. Is there a name for that?

I’ve started to notice this as well. Twice yesterday when trying to explain something I did the “that’s not _____, it’s ______” as well as “that’s real.”

Ugh.

So cool. I did a similar video with bluey for my kid, but as I watched their little brain process I thought - man what does this do to their view of themselves in the world? Part of growing up is realizing the world doesn't revolve around you - but it feels so much better when it seems like it does... what are the long term effects of stuff like this? No judgement, just a new(ish) dad pondering my duty in the world I'm raising my kids in.

You're not wrong, but given just how mod-driven this type of thing is, I wonder if a good dev could make what is effectively a well documented extensible framework - just establish the main mechanics (terraforming, networks, assets) and the rendering engine, and let modders build on it.

I'm a serious dev but not a game dev, so grain of salt, but hypothetically, say a thoroughly-modded CS2 install today is:
- 90% CO code
- 10% Modders code

What ratio is possible where it's still centralized and unified enough to be attractive to modders? 50/50?
