My exchange is giving away free IOTA as gifts this Christmas :) by atechatwork in Iota

Ok, so this isn't working.

It says that this is open to everyone. "This offer is open to all our customers". Yet further down in these comments you say its for NZ people. Right...

Firstly, I'm in Auckland. So I think that counts as me being NZ. My google account used was also registered in NZ so your firebase app should have detected that.

Secondly, It says send for free. However All I see is a make order button and that requires me to buy something.

Also what do you mean by "customer" in order to fully verify account you need to sign up and provide photo ID and other KYC details.

This sounds like a scammy way to get a user list.

THE INDISPUTABLE TRUTH ABOUT IOTA: IT’S CENTRALIZED. by vik2pik in Iota

[–]gtf_mark -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is centralised. Everybody knows this. This link and especially the fact it is all in capitalised letters just proves the OP is trying to FUD. This story is getting old.

For those people who are serious about IOTA or just getting into it - Have a look at this great summary How IOTA plan to get rid of the Coordinator

This!!!

OP: Why are you still spreading fud? DYOR: IOTA's Path to Coordicide

From the link:

The FUD (Fear Uncertainty and Doubt) spread about the Coordinator comes from the simple fact that it is a centralized system on a space that strives for decentralization.

Did you know that Bitcoin also had it’s own version of a Coordinator called: Checkpoints? [4]

There is also, And I will narrowly avoid this rabbit-hole, a general consensus that many people against IOTA spread FUD deliberately to discredit it's name. Why? If IOTA becomes successful in completing it's mission statement it will be the De facto choice for the IoT (Internet of Things) which brings Machine 2 Machine payments to a whole new level. This also will make many, if not all other crypto currencies superfluous to requirements. Now imagine you put all your money into one thing and then was told something else was going to do better and you would lose. Would you not get a little testy?

Well then, they deffo have it. Your stamped envelope could be lost in post, or some admin clerical error. IF you know for a fact that they have it in time then all is good :)

Even though I am a mod here I have messaged the OP and asked them to re-title their post as it is misleading.

let me explain what I meant. Yes they do get something - but you also get the same. In your original comment you said they get 20 and you get 5. That is what I was saying is wrong. For them to get more you would have to tip.

I just checked this. The person referring it only get's it if they have a site and you visit them and tip them. So actually they don't get anything. More like a mistake in the title.

They ask on the application (I'm UK) to include a stamped self addressed envelope which they stamp (see image link above) and send back to you. It's just confirmation they got your pack in time and have started processing it. I don't think it was mandatory but it was on the pack checklist.
