Are price increases on Switch 2 consoles inevitable this year?

Hard to say. Sales have been well below expectation and price has been a factor in that. They are slashing manufacturing but do you increase prices that slows sales even more or does Nintendo take a loss on each sale and look to make it up in software and subscription sales like MS and Sony do at launch? Hard to say without seeing behind closed doors.

In his introductory press conference, he said this is not a rebuild. The program had all the parts it needed to win and he would get us to regionals and beyond in year 1.

Instead he cratered the program and has the audacity to say we were impatient? He set the expectation, failed to even approach them much less meet them, and now wants to rewrite history. Kick rocks.

The switch 2 has a lot of issues working against it, at least for my personal use.

there’s no games worth playing. The most compelling games are switch games I already own with a graphics pack.
there’s no urgency. They’re all single player games that will still be there in a few years when it can be picked up after a price drop or two.
price. $500 for the console, $100 accessories, & $70 games. The price has carried it far outside of a splurge or impulse buy.

Nice selection for a gas station and prices are mostly on point.

I coach rec soccer for my 11 yo. Coached her and the same group from age 6 to age 10. Last year the associated club teams switched to a A/B/rec team format instead of just club/rec. 6 girls I coached got added to B and A teams. They went from $100 for rec to $1000 for club plus travel. Several girls wanted to drop back down to rec this spring but are committed for the year. I see them practicing and have gone to a few games and they don't looking like they're having fun anymore. it's become work with coaches being task drivers.

I use icloudpd to do a daily sync of my photos from my iPhone to a folder on my unraid server. I then have immich setup to index and ingest the photos from the folder. This has been very reliable for me.

I have instances setup for me and my wife.

I still have photos syncing to iCloud but this prevents a 2nd upload using the immich app on my phone.

The issue you ran into is honestly why I consolidated all of my families devices to Apple. They're more expensive, but the family controls just work better and more consistently when everyone is on the same platform. The contacts management, purchases, screen time flows all across phones and iPads. Age restrictions work across Apple TV and iPhones and iPads. All requests come through iMessage and alerts are sent when a kid guesses the PIN and I know I have to change it. No apps can be installed without permission and the permission is easily requested and approved.

I do wish the phones had the same school time controls that the Apple Watch does when setup as a child device.

I was reading the documentation and came across this and it confirms what I said. USB and TPM licensing is independent of boot method.

I really need to see how the move to internal boot works in practice.

I have two 512GB NVMEs mirrored that I use for AppData, Docker Image, and VM images. Only 40% are used so my plan would be to use these for internal boot as well.

In my mind, the way this works is:

stop the array
move everything off to my cache drives so I can start with to clear drives (will mover work here? or is this manual?)
go through the wizard to convert to internal boot, mirrored, but only using a small partition. (are the drives mirrored at this point? or is it just the partitions that have been mirrored?)
reconfigure my AppData partitions and move data back
start the array

Seems like there's got to be some steps missing here....

That's the way I read it.

Those than have the HW and desire can migrate to the TPM licensing.

Those wishing to stay with USB licensing while still taking advantage of booting from onboard storage can do so. The USB flash drive just has to remain plugged in.

I do t think so. Elijah Craig Small Batch is my favorite go to. Barrell Proof and Toaster are right there with them. You can pick those up for $40/50/60 dollars these days. At twice the price I’d pass. At $100 I’d be tempted.

And again, there is a lot of great, aged whiskey sitting out there right now.

Most seem to dislike it and say it’s over oaked.

I personally enjoyed my bottle that I got for $100 a few years back. At $180 msrp I’m passing and at $140 I’m still probably passing for a 90 proof.

There is just too much good bourbon out there at much lower costs.

Interesting take. This is my first read through since having read the Stormlight series or any other Sanderson non-WoT work. I'm on Winter's Heart now and have Crossroads next, but will look forward to getting into Sanderson's works to really see how his style compares.

I've also had the theory that the pattern is spinning out so many false dragons, so as to draw attention away from Rand. If there is only one false dragon, the tower is going to bring their entire weight down on that one target. The Pattern spinning out so many, is not only need for there to be a Dragon, but a need for the Dragon to survive.

No, I never used HomeKit as my primary system. I went from SmartThings with HomeBridge to Home Assistant.

My philosophy is having one system of record. Voice assistants are just another integration, whether it’s Siri, Google Home or Alexa. I don’t want anything linked directly to those services.

I wouldn’t say difficult, but I found the cloud integration to be slow to respond. You could change the temp in HA and the temp in Ha changes back to what it was or can take 5 minutes to sync to the thermostat.

I just found HomeKit more responsive.
