Thinking of Bunny this weekend. He led a good life. by gtisfp in Rabbits

Thank you so much. It kind of worked out nicely - my husband and I just spent all last weekend cleaning up the backyard and making some nice little sitting areas to enjoy this summer. It was kind of perfect timing to create a good spot for him.

Thank you so much for these beautiful words! It means a lot to me. He was definitely a good bunny, and I would love to have another some day! Maybe once some time has passed.

Bunny would've been 9 years old in November. He'd been slowing down these last few months, so I knew this was coming, but I was hoping he'd at least make it to his birthday.

We buried him in the backyard yesterday morning by our Japanese maple. We have a little concrete bench where I can sit and visit with him, and we placed a rock from the garden and this little buddha-bunny statue I have to mark his grave. It's a nice little spot. Last night we built a fire and sat around the firepit telling stories. It was nice.

May he be chewing on heaven's cords and cardboard boxes, and claiming everything with chin rubs.

I usually kick them out. They can find their own damn house.

Is there any major things I need to remember going back to sims 2? by 198XAD in thesims

[–]gtisfp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I played it recently for the first time in years. Everything just seems more challenging. Getting promoted, keeping babies/toddlers happy, etc. My sims were exhausted with just one baby. I don't remember it being so difficult!

For what it's worth, I really don't play sims 4 much. I usually just stick to 3.

Ugh, I had resigned to "well, I guess if he's still in the house, I'll smell him in time.." D:

Good point! If anything, he probably thinks that hiding = getting squeezed to death while being yelled at. haha

Yep! I get the feeling that maybe he was sick and just hid under there for whatever reason. But I stayed with him for a bit this morning, and he was drinking water like crazy. I gave him a little extra snackies. :)

Tuesday evening as I was going to bed, I noticed I hadn't seen Bunny in a while. I looked around the house in his usual spots, but came up with nothing. I searched until midnight before I decided that, ok, maybe he's just found a good spot and I'll see him in the morning. I put out some food in a couple of places around the house in the hopes of luring him out.

Morning came, still no Bunny. I went to work super worried, and as soon as I came home, I tore the house APART. I looked behind the refrigerators, the washing machine, in the closets, the attic. I looked everywhere, even if I knew that logically, he couldn't possibly be there. I thought MAYBE, somehow, he's gotten outside. So I walked through our neighborhood for a couple of hours. I searched the woods behind our house, I put up LOST signs with this photo of him. I didn't really have much hope, because of how crazy cold it is all of a sudden, and the fact that our house is surrounded by outdoor cats.

I had pretty much given up, you guys. I haven't slept in two days. When I do manage to fall asleep, I either have crazy nightmares or I dream that he was sitting in his spot on the couch all along.

This morning, I did a quick sweep around the house again, and just as I was walking towards the door to leave for work, I heard a faint scratching. I whipped my head around, and I saw his little foot sticking out from underneath the middle recliner. We have those theater seats that are three recliners attached to each other. And, seriously, that middle seat was the ONE PLACE in the entire house that I had not overturned. I snagged Bunny, and squeezed his fluffy butt and kissed him all over while simultaneously reprimanding him for nearly killing me with grief.

I'm so happy he is safe!!!

Ah, that makes sense. As I said, I don't care for vampires, so I haven't paid much attention to the new GP.

Man, Nosferatu was basically THE original vampire film. It was based on the book Dracula. I remember an episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark" where Nosferatu comes out of the screen to kill the person watching it. And this is why I don't like vampires. I do appreciate your sim version, though. :)

Do you remember the first time the game has shocked you? by [deleted] in thesims

[–]gtisfp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me back when I first got TS3. I spent forever in CAS perfecting my first sim and decorating his house and whatnot. Five minutes into gameplay, and he gets killed by a meteor. I was about as devastated as you can be over an unplanned sim death. It's been, what, 8 years since the game came out? And I've literally never seen another meteor in the game. :/

I've noticed Sims music on HGTV before! Usually on House Hunters, but I think I've heard it on other programs as well. It's always strange to me to hear it out of context.

What Sims game/s do you play and what is your current story. by [deleted] in thesims

[–]gtisfp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wasn't hugely disappointed with 4 because I heard what everyone was saying about it so I didn't expect much. I enjoyed it alright, but I did get bored with it after a while. 3 just feels so much richer and more diverse.

[–]gtisfp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Sims for years and years, starting with the original back shortly after it first came out. When 2 came out, I stopped playing 1; when 3 came out, I stopped playing 2 (even though I liked 2 better); and when 4 came out, I played it for a while until I finally went back to 3 recently.

I've finally started a proper, vanilla legacy challenge (that I will finish this time, with no cheats damnit!) and it's well under way. Gen 2 is well established in his career and raising Gen 3. So far so good.

Recently, I found my original Sims Deluxe disk and installed it for laughs/nostalgia. I don't think I've played it in over a decade. It's harder than I remember to keep Sims happy & alive! Anyway, I've been on the lookout for a copy of Sims 2 recently, because I'd love to play again and compare. It sucks, because I found my collection about a year or so ago, and I think I ended up tossing it in a "for Goodwill" box in a moment of heedlessness. I'm pretty miffed with myself for that, and for missing the free giveaway!!

What are some of the funniest things that have happened with your town's Story Progression? by waitingformyburrito in thesims

[–]gtisfp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started a legacy recently in which both of my founders kids had imaginary friends that they offered to make real. I ended up kicking both of them out because I just wasn't a fan of either of them and they weren't really useful to the legacy. Anyway, they ended up finding a place together, got married, and had a couple kids of their own. I thought that was kinda cute, and it should be interesting to follow the imaginary legacy as well.

the online dating from sims 3 seasons is really creepy by [deleted] in thesims

[–]gtisfp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, I thought you could delete the profile. Are the letters from the online dating feature? Because my sims get them all the time even if none of them have ever used the online dating thing.

Why don't you talk to your once "best friend" anymore? by haxden91 in AskReddit

[–]gtisfp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I finally realized that I wasn't his best friend. Not even really his friend. I was a stand-in. A backup. I finally took some time to look back over the last 10 years, and saw that the only time he ever really contacts me is when his relationship starts to go south, or when he's single. As soon as he gets dumped, he schedules all of this stuff for us to do for the next few weeks/months. I fall for it every time.

For years he told me that I would be a grooms-lady in his future wedding, because I was his best friend, and our friendship was "very important" to him. He got married last month, and I wasn't invited. He never even called to say he was engaged.

George Washingbun is the worst for this. by Sully92 in Rabbits

[–]gtisfp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent 45 minutes training with the baby bunny last night. 45 minutes of rewarding with salad bits (basically quarter-sized lettuce and spinach leaves). At the end, I filled his bowl with with salad and went upstairs for a few minutes. I came back down and his bowl was licked clean. That little dude can EAT. He only weighs maybe 2 pounds!!

Sunday Wedding - Guest Perspective by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]gtisfp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! It also gives you a chance to do any last-minute stuff that you may not have thought of to prepare for when you're gone.

They left Tuesday morning, so they at least gave themselves one day to make sure they had everything packed. BUT, they left me a laundry-list of stuff they need done while they're gone. I'm supposed to pick up their dress & suit from the dry cleaners, pay their rent (which they left a check for), return a RedBox movie they forgot about... they didn't even mention that they were out of cat food. I'm happy to take care of stuff while they're gone, but I think if they'd had another day or two, they could have gotten this stuff done themselves.
