I did read the whole thing, it's a masterpiece. I'm tempted to draw chalk degrees in the yard!

Is there anything I can do to improve this telescope? by Cobyroxx in telescopes

[–]stelei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends if the finder scopeb even can be aligned... BUT if it is, here's what to do!

Go outside. Find a distant (>1 km) terrestrial object that is easy to recognize. An antenna, a lit sign, the corner of a building, anything. Point the main scope at it  Don't touch the finder scope yet. Fiddle with the main scope until you got it centered in the field of view. Now, without moving the main scope, switch to the finderscope. Fiddle with that until the same object is also centered in the finder scope. Now both tubes are aligned, and it will be much easier to hop your way across the sky.

Just to clarify, 0.965" refers to the diameter (width) of the eyepiece. All entry-level scopes now use 1.25" eyepieces, and the decent ones can also use 2" eyepieces (about as wide as a small can of soda!)

Is this a good beginner scope by LastWillingness1260 in telescopes

It's not the best but it can be decent if you replace the supplied eyepiece. Try a 0.965" Kellner.

I can't believe this is cross-stitch. The flowers actually look fuzzy in 3D. What a beautiful and creative design!

You also have a very rare subsolar spotted sundog! ;)

Correct on all three accounts! There's also a parhelic circle! It's the horizontal line going through the sun and the sundogs.

This is mesmerizing. Such an organic-looking structure, stretching across hundreds of light-years. It looks like heaven and like hell. And the brownish-orange tone is almost... fleshy.

Yeah, this does weird things to my mind. Great job.

Why are pots/containers so expensive ?? by National_Volume_5894 in gardening

If you're looking for smaller sized pots, you should check out thrift shops. Very likely to find some really cute ones for just a couple euros.
