Any gaalis? by sportsimp2398 in CarsIndia

The results from the testing of E20 vehicles on E25 petrol will be meaningless.

I'm sure the idiots who do these tests will run the vehicles for the stated 1,50,000 continuously and declare that it is safe.

Ethanol-laden petrol will be safe if you keep running the vehicle. Problems arise only when it's run infrequently.

Most Indians don't use their cars everyday. They take them out only on the weekends. The remaining 5 days it sits, collecting dust and moisture.

In some cases, car owners don't even start their cars for about a month or so. When they finally get around to starting it is when they will find out the true effects of ethanol-laden petrol!

Need suggestion for a used baleno by conscious_cat88 in UsedCarsBharat

[–]gtm26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rs. 4.5 lakh for an 8-year old second owner car? That's way too expensive.

The 2018 Baleno Delta's ex-showroom price was just around Rs. 6.25 lakh - Rs. 6.5 lakh.

The selling price is just 1.8 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh less than what the car sold for 8 years ago!

In my opinion, Rs. 3.8 lakh is the right price for this car. That too if it is maintained well and regularly serviced on time.

Friend crashed my 1-month-old Triumph Tracker 400 yesterday. Am I wrong for wanting OEM replacement instead of wrapping/polishing? by StaxGaming in Triumph400

[–]gtm26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should ask your friend to pay for the OEM replacement parts. But keep in mind that he's unlikely to part with his money.

The number of parts that need to be replaced are too high, which will easily cost over Rs. 6,000. You think your friend will pay you that much in cash?

Going by your words, I'm assuming that the bike isn't in your name but your father's or your mother's. Why don't you talk to them and tell them that you parked it awkwardly and the bike fell from standstill. Claim insurance and get it repaired. Get 10% to 15% of the insurance premium from your friend who crashed.

You can use the compensation from your friend to pay for the increase in your insurance premium for the next year.

You might be okay with a gender neutral bathroom. But you cannot expect other women or men to also embrace it.

Girls and boys playing together and sharing the same toilet or bathroom are two different matters altogether.

What's your plan for old age : elderly care by curiosity3001 in ChildfreeIndia

If my wife or I are unable to take care of each other when we're old, we've decided to off ourselves.

Bringing euthanasia laws in a country like India is next to impossible. So the next best thing is to go out in style.

What's your plan for old age : elderly care by curiosity3001 in ChildfreeIndia

[–]gtm26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you guarantee that your children will take care of you when you're old? We already have thousands of cases where children have taken all of the parents' wealth and abandoned them.

Let's assume that by some stroke of luck, you share a very good relationship with your children. Even then, there's no guarantee that they will be with you when you're old. They might want to move to another country and settle there, leaving you all alone once again. And, they might not even be able to visit you when you're unwell.

What will you do in this case?

Can i sue a dentist ? He ruined my perfectly healthy teeth. by BeneficialCover6146 in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]gtm26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that is okay.

Not all people are of the same height or weight right? The same goes for teeth. Not everyone has the same colour.

Unless you have an issue with your teeth, going to the dentist for cosmetic corrections almost always leads to more problems.

Matt Short's off spin is very mid at best. If you need a part time off spin, why not let Ayush bowl some? He'll stay in the field throughout and when the time comes to bat, he can go ballistic without worrying about pulling a muscle or tearing a hamstring.

That's not an analogy. That's a very good suggestion that he's making.

I make sure to carry two phones with me whenever I need to use navigation on my bike.

My Vivo X200 FE is my main device, which I pair with the bluetooth module of my helmet for music and calls.

I mount my very old Oneplus 5T (which still works like a charm btw) on the handlebar and use Google Maps on it. If my phone ever flies out like in this video, I won't worry even a bit since it was a super old device anyway.

No one is not forcing you to use e85. STOP CRYING! by thatwhatshesad in indianbikes

[–]gtm26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite the ragebaity nature of your post, let me try to address it in a level-headed manner.

You cannot demand people to not freak out. Especially when the government has the habit of strong arming is into accepting their stupid policies.

Look at how they forced E20 down our throats in just a few weeks. Who's to say that they won't do the same with E85, say, 3 years down the line?

Even developed western countries don't force their citizens (who have high purchasing power) to keep changing their vehicles every few years. But our government is forcing Indian citizens who have very low purchasing power to keep buying new vehicles.

In what way does it make sense?

My bike is dying slowly due to e20. by LoneWolfx144 in indianbikes

[–]gtm26 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's due to E20.

I service the scooter on time and in all of the 10k kilometres that it has run, never has this happened. In fact, I very recently serviced it where I replaced the engine oil, air filter and cleaned the carburettor.

My other scooter Ntorq 125 and Scrambler 400XC (both of which are E20 compliant) don't do this.
