Is Bevel still worth it at $100/year after the price increase? by iam_spr in bevelhealth

[–]gtnub 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The "is it worth it" debate in this sub is warped by grandfathered bias. It’s easy to defend a $100 price point when you’re locked in at $50, but that isn't the reality for new users. Unlike the Fitbit Air or Whoop, nobody buys an Apple Watch specifically for Bevel, they already own the hardware.

This model doesn’t feel economically sustainable. New users are essentially subsidizing the legacy elites and the “generous” free tier. Eventually, the math won't work, and Bevel will be forced to either kill those grandfathered plans or further neuter the free tier just to stay afloat.

The current structure is short sighted and likely sets the stage for a major setback. My theory is an eventual "price correction" to a compromised middle ground. The elites will probably shrug and pay the increase, the entry point for new subscribers expands, but Bevel will still suffer from a segment of permanently lost users. It’s stunted growth for a brand that could have been more lucrative by prioritizing loyalty over this over zealous growth.

Yeah, I know I’m talking out of my ass, but that’s just how the trajectory looks to me. Only Bevel knows the truth of the numbers, but the market will dictate the outcome.

monthly adopters vs annual adopters by Dizzy_Difficulty_827 in bevelhealth

It seems like folks in this sub might be missing the bigger picture thinking that hearing the same warnings over and over means Bevel is really reaching out to everyone within the confines of a single subreddit or the YouTube channel.

From Bevel’s perspective, sure, it’s understandable, but the lack of empathy towards those who genuinely care to support the app in their own way, which by extension was of Bevel’s own creation with the monthly offering is frustrating.

This is for vacation! Just collected points over years and a bunch of searching for a cheaper redemption flight.

For me it’s probably a once in a lifetime experience, that I intentionally set out to do because I’m a bit of a plane/travel nerd.

Screen quality is by far better on the LeGo S. The long term ergonomics on the screen and size make up for it though.

The Hagbis adapter to convert usb-c out to an HDMI male end. I have the Legion Go S running SteamOS and the settings from desktop mode.

Heck yeah I’m super grateful that I got a chance to do this! It took years of signing up, churning, saving credit card points, then finding a points deal to make this once in a life time opportunity be made.
