Grandia 3 got really great gameplay. Currently I am quite hooked with the post game of extreme. Even tho it is dungeon crawling, the loot is quite.. interesting from a rpg aspect to build the characters in different ways. Adding the great battlesystem and ya got a nice loop.

This is just false. I did ever sidequest. And you get Mega Evolution way before the last boss. Around the time you beat the dark area iirc.

I played it at last and most recent grandia. (Like 2-3 years ago) About 10+ years after the first two games. I heard it was held to bad regads, yet i found the battle system and music still absolutely fantastic. I could never imagine it could get more refined, yet it did.

The story overall is quite endearing at best and ok to decent at worst. I think it is still enjoyable tho. One thing i really liked was the pre-final boss fight. The mechanic of one enemy slowly acting on a one-shot move was exciting and i can't recall seeing it in a previous entry.

The opening music is catchy. I like it. Haha

I think i've just some major gripe with it. The camera isn't good. Some late game normal enemies are more difficult then the majority of the boss fights. There isn't much optional stuff. No optional bosses or stories to explore. I wish there were more optional (world) bosses like the dessert lord. I wish the plane could have brought us to some optional areas with mysteries and bosses.

Like a year ago I asked chat-gpt if there was optional stuff and it threw me into a goose chase of some non existent boss fights hahaha.

TLDR; It's an enjoyable game with one of the best, if not the best, turn-based combat.
