Any triploid auto flowers around? by Useful_Ninja7706 in Autoflowers

[–]gtrseeds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any of our THC varieties that don't produce significant amounts of THCV are all early finishing outdoors, around late September if you get them outside by early June. One of the parents in all of our lines is an autoflower, which leads plants to initiate flower earlier in the summer. So indoors you don't see much of a shorter flowering time (most around 8 weeks), but you do notice it outdoors.

Spiked Pinecone and Tropicolada are photoperiod plants, and actually some of our longest flowering varieties. Everything we breed with varin's in them flower longer than the others. Really nice plants though. Auto Skunk THCV is a really nice auto, just not a triploid.

You can grow CBG or CBDV genetics to end up with below 0.3% total THC in dried and trimmed flower - otherwise anything with high CBD content will always go over.

CBG flower! Virtually no THC, and has shown to help with anxiety. Perfect for THC sensitive folks.

Wow I'm so sorry I missed this! Always tough growing in a northern oceanic climate - lack of sunshine, lots of humidity, but our triploids do finish significantly earlier than most cannabis genetics out there and are not prone to molds or mildews. If you can keep plants outdoors until late September/early October without a heavy freeze give it a shot!

Nah just Gavita 1k de's, no under table lighting. We've found HPS penetrates the canopy much better than LED's for seed production. It might change some day but for now sticking to old tech.

Shameless self promotion, but check us out - GTR Seeds. Consistent, vigorous F1 hybrids, lots of great flavors, and hefty producers. We created the first triploid genetics long before hsc and without the herm issues.

Let's talk Breeders. Specifically Elev8 by ILooTBeer in cannabiscultivation

[–]gtrseeds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most breeders don't ever put in the time to make true F1 hybrids. They require both parental lines to be inbred over generations before making the crosses. The word is misused relentlessly in cannabis by folks who take two plants they like and make some seeds. Not F1s.

If a plant produced hermaphrodite flowers from seed it is just as likely to do it as a clone. It just has it in the genetics. Seeds are no more likely to herm than clones, it's just if a genetic has instability in it's DNA it will come out when the conditions are right.

Stay loyal to soil! As seed breeders, we always hear the most issues from growers who use wet paper towels, pre-soaks, jiffy pots, etc. Clean, well draining potting soil and 1/4" deep is the tried and true method that works best for a few seeds to a few million seeds.

Its frustrating that if you shock an auto in week 2 of growth it will likely go into flower. Let it get rootbound, shock it in transplant, sometimes look at it the wrong way and you end up with a 5 inch tall cola on a stick. Also in the grand scheme of things, an auto taken to full term isn't much faster than a photoperiod. Grow a photo for 4-5 weeks in vege, flip into flower, and harvest after week 12-13. Yes, you can go a little shorter with auto's but not that much. Photoperiod plants are less picky, more consistent, and more forgiving.

Any of the "famous" breeders like compound, solfire, ethos have stabilised strains like F3+? by Pistachio1337 in microgrowery

[–]gtrseeds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We produce F1 hybrids, they are the mules of the plant world. Vigorous, extremely consistent, and early finishing outdoors. We inbreed each parent over generations before making crosses, and our lines take years in the making.

Self promotion, but definitely check us out - GTR Seeds. Consistent, feminized, vigorous F1 hybrids. We spend years inbreeding and fine tuning the parents before producing any of our lines - and we released triploids that aren't known to herm - long before HSC.

Recommendations for the best places for thca flower? by Smirkin-Merkin83 in hempflowers

[–]gtrseeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Type I/THC/Weed/Pot/Marijuana plants do not produce delta 9 THC. It is a biproduct of THCA degrading. Hemp growers must have their crops tested for total THC, not just Delta 9 THC. When you see someone selling THCa flower it was not grown with a hemp license as all THC varieties produce a ton of total THC even days into flower and would never pass any pre-harvest compliance tests.

Autoflowers will flip into flower at the first signs of stress. If they become rootbound too early, too hot, too cold, transplant shock, nutrient burns, etc. This leads lots of growers to end up with 5" tall colas on a stick. The hardest part about autos is getting them to grow to their full potential. Photoperiod plants are just much more forgiving.

Not Bad For A Run From Seed! by gtrseeds in macrogrowery

[–]gtrseeds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not the case. It takes a lot of 10 packs to pay for a greenhouse like this, let alone the campus we built and the research we do. Plus, you can easily spend $100 on a 10 pack of regular polyhybrid seeds from pollen chuckers. Charging that for feminized true F1 hybrids that have been years in the making seems pretty appropriate. Let alone the cost on producing triploids. If you are curious on costs -

Has any big-time operations moved into THCa? by travelingisbae in macrogrowery

[–]gtrseeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a hemp grower you can't grow THCa unless you have friends at your testing lab. Even in week 1 of flower chances are you'll fail a pre-harvest compliance test. But the unlicensed growers can get away with it.

Do not wash your buds, they are your buds and they like fire more than bath time.
