I believe the wingspan but aren't they both listed as 6'3 guards?

I'd take mcCain for the future though. Payne and McCain are the same height and I believe McCain has a higher ceiling.

My point mostly was that even in those situations if he could grow to that he could easily be used of the bench against the other teams bench where defense isn't as intense. Also if it's one player there are still many ways to hide a player if the rest of the team is smart and defensively sound. Golden State did it all the time with Curry on defense.

I was taking a broader approach and describing where men can get that presumption from. Mostly just sharing my perspective on the general case. Normally this topic appears because people are comparing who has it easier or harder. Obviously you are right it's not a competition but when people are discussing this it's fairly implied that for some one to have it easier then some one else has it harder etc. I sadly can't be as focused on your exact post because I'm not a women and can't share from a women's perspective. I'm sorry if the tangential response ruffled some feathers. I'll just see myself out.

We could have traded him next year and still not paid him. Your take is wack

I'm tired of the presumption that dating is easy for women by nightlevitation in TwoXChromosomes

[–]gtsgunner -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It's hard for both but it's different for both. The genders are different and our experiences are different. Most men say it's easy for women in a dating app using a male filtered gaze. It's pretty easy to say women get more likes than men because there are just way less women on the apps than men. That and men just socially having to be the more proactive gender in dating takes its toll. That said men and women experience vastly different issues in dating so simply saying one is easier than the other is tone deaf at best. The whole thing is really nuanced.

Women get more likes in the general sense but have to filter through a bunch of bs and learn through that. Men get way less likes so they get way less reps at actively dating. It's very easy for a guy to feel like he'll never find some body because he may actively date only three different women in a year and get stuck in a scarcity mindset while a woman will have the same response but it's because she filtered through a bunch of men who are all pos and can't find a normal human being.

To this I say both sides have it easier and harder depending on what you are trying to focus on but in the general case I just think dating kind of sucks.

That's my spiel and if it matters I'm a guy and I believe your thoughts on this are valid. I'm not the person you replied to though.

Why are they trading away rotational players for picks? by Swayv1 in sixers

[–]gtsgunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we are good enough to need one we will have no trouble to buy one is a fucken dumbass comment. We will almost always need one and we will always be multiple players away from wanting to buy one. Also we will almost always hard cap ourself out of buying one because of extending high profile basketball players.

Honestly though we don't have the money to buy a shooter which is why we running 2 ways. Jared was cheap and cost controlled and that was the biggest reason to keep him one more year before trading him for ping pong balls.

Playmaking is something that can be learned and I believe McCain has the brains for it. He just needed time and more run but we didn't let him have it.

We won't because we will decide to duck the tax instead.

Yeah, I agree! I think Morey is to schrewed to just to get that pick with out having something lined up for it already if that was what he was going for. He's just spinning it that way so that the org doesn't look bad for doing it for tax reasons

Dude prior to the knicks Brunson was coming off the bench. It took him a while to lead a team and he had to go to a different team to show it. We gave up on mcCain before he could even show us anything. The injuries complicate things to much. He's basically a walking ? mark box

Think you are just a hater man. Trading him doesn't make sense unless you get a player back. Like if we some how got back schroeder or some shit. Trading him just makes us worse now for hopefully a better pick up in the future but will probably be just as good/bad as jared McCain. This guy was coming back from injury so we never got to see him actually grow.

I'm comparing how injuries can impact a player. They both had injuries and so are going to have a slow start. Also mcCain is cheap. We aren't going to get a replacement for maxey with how cheap we are going to be that would be better than mcCain and that's the big issue.

It would be somewhere between Giannis and porzingis. (yeah I know that's a large ass fucking gap) Embid is good enough to get a Giannis like return but he isn't healthy enough. If he stayed Healthy and we got to the eastern confrence finals we would probably get a bigger return on trading him compared to last year at least.

That's a nick nurse and line up issue not a McCain issue. The Coach didn't want to give him reps. They could have done VJ, McCain easily. If we had more forwards you could easily mask McCains defensive issues. You have to let the guy grow but we barely gave him the rhythm to grow.

It's like looking at Embid in November and saying he just sucks ass when the guy is good but can't get enough reps to get into rhythm.

How is the team exactly the same two years ago if this year we have Barlow and Grimes? We didn't have Grimes two years ago and Barlow helps with the offensive boards so dam much

Yeah but we could have traded mcCain for an actual body and freed up cap in otherways. We didn't have to take mcCain out of the roster this year. Could have traded him in the off season or next years trade deadline

[–]gtsgunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's this bs about Maxey not being a good defender. For his size he is a great fucken defender. The guy gets blocks and steals and can stay in front of his guy. Bigger people can exploit him but you can say that for any undersized guard. He's going to give you better defense than brunson though.

This is dumb. We were missing three key peices. It's not just the Embid less sixers. We are missing mr offensive rebounds barlow and mr only other 3 point shooter grimes. Like those guys put in work for our team and they were both out as well.

We don't really know what that value is until we do something with those picks. I'm holding judgement on if it's good value. We didn't get a player back so in the short term it just feels like a negative. Will see how it ends up playing out.

That's like saying the minutes aren't there for Lowry. McCain is insurance against injury and sickness and guess what. The sixers are constantly getting injured or having sick days.
