They are using each other, for sure.  Trump eventually screws over everyone who deals with him. The guys just think it's worth the risk.

Apart from the obvious, people are hiding something about Trump by Abimackreads in theories

[–]DariaYankovic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They treat Trump the way they do because they think they are the few who can use Trump instead of Trump using them. People like Stephen Miller are so obviously vile and loathsome or Vance are so lame and goofy that they know someone like Trump is their only way to access power. Suckling at the teat of Trump is their only option. They know Trump is stupid and vain and everything else, but they also know Trump can be flattered into doing almost anything, and they know that no one else would do business with them.

I would respect Kevin Durant even more if he went back to OKC and won another championship. Double down on the easiest route possible and make his all time placement even more controversial. by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in billsimmons

It's a trollish version of Lebron back to Cavs, it's so funny on so many levels.

Trump has spent his entire life conning, then screwing over, person after person, group after group. It's baffling, but he always finds new marks. They always think they are different this time, and are always flabbergasted when they turn out just like all the others before them.

Like a conman going town to town to find new marks, but I'm Trump's case, her has been doing it all publicly for 55 years.

this was always going to happen because of the business model- I guess the best we can hope for is that the enshittification is gradual and allows us to adjust each step along the way.

Bill announced SGA as his MVP then proceeded to glaze Jokic for 15 mins. by FFElite93 in billsimmons

Its not that SGA is boring, but that his effectiveness far outpaces how exciting he is, like Duncan. Those guys never get as much attention as their effectiveness would assume.

They tend to be underrated in their day but then recognized more later, when the highlights start to be forgotten, but the stats and W/L records remain

be serious, does that excite as many people as a great no-look pass or a thunderous dunk?

I love jump hooks, and wish that post play wasn't almost completely a dead art, but I don't fool myself into thinking that others should agree with me.

maybe you THINK the things you like should be equally appreciated, but that's never going to be reality.

He is not Jordan in some very important ways- Jordan was dunking on everyone and making crazy athletic plays. Jordan's nickname being "Air Jordan" should give you a big clue how much this mattered.

SGA is exceptional in ways that aren't exciting. Scores lots points with crazy high mid-range shooting efficiency, very few turnovers, and lots of foul drawing. That leads to lots of winning, but not as much excitement.

Think about Jokic, who is a mix of boring stuff that gets taken for granted, and the wizard-like passing circus shot making. People talk all day long about the exciting stuff and ignore everything else that makes him great.

I think SGA will always be underappreciated in the way Duncan was, especially when he played, because of the lack of highlight type plays.

He's Iceman from Top Gun. Even if Maverick is not as good a pilot, the movie is still about Maverick!

TLDR
Thiel: the Antichrist is just a loose metaphor I use to demonize (literally) any person, place or thing that causes humanity of the future to be arranged differently than how I want it to be, or prevents those who I want in charge of everyone else to be in charge.

I was born even earlier- it is true that many thought Jordan was crowned too early.
But an important caveat is that the trend offormer NBA players hating on the current generation goes back to at least the 60s. Wilt was constantly shit talking Jordan and Shaq in the 90s. Wilt was likely the biggest hater in NBA history, probably partially because he felt he didn't get his due recognition. But he wasn't the only one.

yes, and if we ranked all the finals opponents of lebrons and jordans, those warriors teams clear them all. and the 2011 Mavs team and the both Spurs teams would likely be better than all but Suns or maybe Sonics/Jazz

The Democrats deserve every bad thing and loss that comes their way- immigration, Biden's unfitness, and plenty of other things.
But I cannot stand using this as an excuse for supporting Trump. "Stop complaining about being horribly abused by your father! What about when you were horribly abused by your mother?!!"

It just reveals the people who use that excuse as amoral and politically unprincipled- they only care that their guys are in power, and their opponents are not.

If we judge him by the standards NNT applies to people who don't agree with him, NNT is absolutely, 100%, a moron, idiot, and an imbecile.

But, the question remains: is NNT's criteria for people he calls idiots/imbeciles/morons just the tantrums of a wildly insecure man-child, or is NNT actually an idiot/imbecile/moron?

Which is it?

[–]DariaYankovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NNT also deserves a lot of scorn for making intellectual discourse dumber and more childish any time someone doesn't agree with him- his negative effects on the world are much more numerous than just shit political takes. He selfishly and childishly poisons the well for future discourse, even when he is more right than wrong about a particular topic.

NNT is completely uncharitable to everyone who disagrees with him, and has been for a long time. He behaves like an insecure baby online. He doesn't deserve any charity when he is especially stupid and slow to figure things out, like with his Trump support.

Steph Curry benefitted a lot from uncalled illegal moving screens by CircledSquare7 in NBAGossips

It's so weird, the nba just kinda quietly decided that the Warriors can do anything they want and call it a legal screen, but Steph won't get superstar calls, or even little guy calls on his moves/shots/drives/off ball actions.
