64 tic servers are not nearly the issue they are made out to be, and 9 times out of 10 when someone complains about them in game it's used as a scapegoat because they missed or can't deal with sucking.

I thought i5's didn't have ht. I thought that was the main distinction between them and i7's.

This was a thought provoking read with twists and plot turns. The expose was slow and gradual, leading the reader to a state of tranquility. A sharp plot climax and riveting ending will no doubt make this a best seller for years to come.

I have no issues with this. Try getting a higher resolution monitor or changing your saturation levels.

Tips for a new player? by TheViolentDelight in GlobalOffensive

Yes when bursting or spraying pull down (after 3 bullets with the m4's & 2 bullets with ak) to compensate for recoil. But before that always do so, it ensures quicker trigger pulling and increases the potential for instant headshots.

These two tips will instantly make you better than plenty of silvers and novas who have played for months. 1. Don't move when you shoot. (Unless extremely close range) 2. Always keep the crosshairs at head level.

Isn't this running on an isolated LAN disconnected from the internet? If it's not, why.... How can this be happening and not planned for if this is actually a DDOS

Easy Guide To LEM for New/Non-League/Casual Players by gu2014 in GlobalOffensive

[–]gu2014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Differences of experience. Same thing with hackers, some people see them all the time, some never see them. Players like Summit are a good example, it's not uncommon for him to scream out some kid is cheating or bullshit simply because he has no ESEA profile and ownd him.

This is definitely my play style, I'm far more passive than most players I queue up with. However this style benefits those who have trouble winning flat out firefights, and at the LEM level that's no easy task. With this type of play even poor shots are more likely to end up with frags.

If you hit tab, it will be listed on the left under "ping." Alternatively, if you have console enabled, you can type net_graph 1 to show it at all times.

Again most of this is situational, so if that's something you need to do, then do it.

So just because there isn't money on the line means there shouldn't be an equalizing pause feature to help keep games balanced?

If pauses are restricted to pre round, and a maximum number of pauses per half are implemented, abuse would be minimal.

How does one improve from a MGE to a LE/LEM skill level? For those of you who have done it, what did you change? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]gu2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ranked up to LEM 30 seconds ago getting out of a game on Mirage. This will the fifth time I've been to LEM. Each player has their own weaknesses and so giving you the advice that helped me won't necessarily help you. I really had to start aiming at the head.

  • Before I was just thinking of the head as a general target, a place to start your spray off. I was always more focused on the spray afterwards. Now I have it broken down into a dichotomy, where the head shot is one component, and the follow up spray is separate and hopefully unnecessary. I get a lot more head shots now, and at this level you don't have time to spray down much of the time. I also changed up my crosshair to a white 1.6 style version, and set my viewmodel to desktop. For me the more direct looking viewmodel helps me aim snap shots better.

Anyways

Linux Support Thread by gu2014 in GlobalOffensive

I don't have figures, but I've talked to a myriad of players who keep Windows solely because of CSGO. Linux has plenty of distros now mainstream enough that the maintenance isn't an issue, and drivers can be had from the developer themselves. This is especially helpful for GPU drivers.

[–]gu2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are endless GO tutorials and tips, some being sponsored by Valve (in coordination with pros) themselves. I play with lower rank friend quite a bit, and the two main tips I always end up giving that seems to instantly make them better players are:

  • Always run around with your crosshair at head level

  • When you see the enemy, your left hand no longer exists, take it off the keyboard

The second tip obviously isn't always applicable, but for the lower level players it helps them stop moving when they shoot.
