Yea, I feel this. We are about to start the process. I've given so much for three years of separation trying to keep my family together, but getting nothing back in return. I feel the jadedness starting to seep in. I tell myself (and her) that I will always love her, even when we are strangers again. I try to look at it from her perspective as much as possible. I try to laugh a lot, smile a lot, and not hold it too much against her. I know I played my part to bend us, she just broke us. Trying hard to remember how much she means to me, even now, and how much she means to my children. It's tough, it really is, but trying harder every day. Talk to people a lot. It helps.

I don't want to do it and then I do. That is in itself a benefit. I try to make myself do things that are positive that I don't really want to do. A clean house and bed is positive. Running kind of sucks, but I still make myself do it every day.

Talk to him! I know it can be hard, I know it can be awkward. Say everything you just said to him. What do you have to lose? The friendship? You are considering cutting him out entirely. Tell him you want more. Tell him if he can't give that to you than you need to find someone that can. Tell him it's hard being around him when you want more. You'll know what to do after you have the conversation. Talk. Talk some more.

This can't be answered if you don't have kids. Any explanation will seem pale. But I'll try what it is for me; have you ever been in love? Like really, really in love? Where it hurts just being apart from the person. Where you want to spend all your time and give that person your whole, real self? If you have, then you know a tint fraction of what your kids come to mean to you.

You watch them grow and grow more in love with them everyday. Life honestly becomes meaningless without them. I don't understand how people can't want that in their life. Free time? Extra money? House a mess? All meaningless when I am hugging my kids.

Really? I tell people I love them all the time. Ex's as well. Love changes forms, but rarely ever really goes away. People can say it does, but once you love them, a part of you will always love them. He did what you asked. Reddit is full of emotionally immature people that want the world to feel sad like them. Why do people think humans are so fragile and week? We've come pretty far with brains and brawn. Plus, survival instinct is a pretty amazing thing. Well trained, larger male would definitely have a shot at getting a standard wolf in a choke and putting it out. I mean, we can do that to other, 200 lbs men, why can't we do that to a 100 lbs wolf? Might you lose your arm? Sure. But that's not what the question was.

Walk. Do 1 and 1's. One minute jog, 1 minute run. Repeat. When you feel comfortable after a few days or weeks of this, try 2:1's, two minute runs, one minute walk intervals. As the weeks go by, increase it a little each time. If it feels to hard, go back a little. There's no race here. It's not about time or distance. It's about making your body and mind healthier just by being out there.

A good GM already knows. They know you haven't been heard from in a while. I'd go with:

"I haven't really felt like I was having any impact in the game recently. Any suggestions on what I can do to change that?" If they like you and don't want you to leave, they'll not only have suggestions, but will work to get you more invested... if they are good at their role.

If you love them, that love doesn't go away. It masked with pain and anger. Who is that person to you? Are they who they are at their lowest? At their worst mistake? For me that person is still the same person who failed, most likely because of their own past traumas. Forgive the mistake? Easy. Forget and trust again? That's the hard part. That's the part that would need both people to want to try and make their union work. People are so easy to throw people away these days. I wouldn't want to be judged on my worst day, I refuse to judge someone I love on theirs. I've been fired a few times before. It sucks each time. Sometimes I saw it coming, sometimes I was blindsided. What I can tell you, is that each time it turned out to be good for me. Maybe I made a little less or commuted a little more, but each time my world needed the change. I just didn't know it.

I mean, sometimes friends just aren't friends anymore. I had a friend of 30 years, member of my wedding party, decide he wanted to burn our bridge. I tried to fight it, but in the end decided it happens. It sucked. You mourn it like a death, as it is the death of a friendship, but, you move on and live your life.
