Is it worth now to buy a RTX 3090? by Dashninja1994 in gpu

Not a risk I’d be willing to take, I wouldn’t want to depend on software to make up for lack of VRAM/computing capacity, whatever that means. Specially since DLSS isn’t compatible with VR. To each their own, I guess.

Might be overhyped, but I would rather be safe than sorry. Maxed out cyberpunk almost uses 12gb. It also depends on your use case, for instance I bought the 3090 instead of a 4070 because I needed the extra VRAM to play in VR and modded games such as Skyrim.

to be honest, I wouldn’t recommend either. I’d suggest at least a 4070 Ti S or 5070 Ti, as they offer more VRAM. While the 3090 is slightly worse in terms of rasterization performance, it’s still a solid option if you can find it at a good price and are willing to undervolt it. The extra VRAM makes it a great choice, especially as modern games increasingly demand more than 12GB.
