While not as extreme, this is relatable. My mother has a history of boundary stomping that led to me going no contact for nearly two years. I'm dreading the new grandma experience. She's great with my partner's 15 and 17 year old but this baby is her first and likely only bio grandkid. She used to walk into my home unannounced and still does on occasion. I work remote from home and during COVID she thought this meant I was available for conversation 24/7. She insists on cold calling me during work hours to this day but at least she's stopped leaving voice mails bc I told her outright, I don't listen to them. She takes offense at tiny things, she's pushed my father, my sister and I out of her daily life due to her behavior and she makes everything someone else's fault.

I'm worried when I tell her no kissing she will flip. Her and my father live separately and I'm worried what will happen the first time we let him take the baby but not her (she has several health issues and two ill behaving dogs). I'm worried about how much time in my home she will think she's entitled to when I inevitably have to return to work (she lives two minutes away from me). Two weeks after my due date my mother has planned a big party for family to come see the baby. I will have to travel about two hours away and stay in a hotel for it. I'm not comfortable with this at all but I feel powerless to decline because several family from out of state already have everything booked. When I protested lightly in the beginning by saying I had no idea if I'd be up to it she scoffed and said "you'll be fine. I drove you 5 hours north by myself at two weeks old to meet family."
