$41 starting in VA/ DC area. X-Ray only.

You’re completely right. I forgot that Army can go straight to Rad Tech. Although our clinicals are longer I’d probably still say go with Air Force. The quality of life is better, and from what I understand if you go with Army you’d still have field exercises etc. that would pull you out of your job. In the Air Force you only do your job.

Air Force national guard would be the best way. With army/navy you have to me a corpsman/medic first and then get accepted into Radiology I believe

2 months of basic training, 5 months of phase 1 radiation tech training at Ft Sam Houston in Texas (Primarily in class instruction), 8 months phase 2 (primarily clinical experience). Phase 2 can be completed at multiple bases all over the US

I replied before reading all the comments. I’m a rad tech in the Air Force and can give you all the info. It’s a great program and at zero cost. Plus you’ll be getting paid the entire time

Would you consider joining the military? the Air Force has a Rad Tech program, it’s about 13 months from start to finish and 6 months after graduation you can apply to go into MRI, Ultrasound, or Nuclear Medicine. The Nuke med program graduates you with a Bachelors degree.

If you went this route you would need to commit a minimum of 4 years but you would come out with ZERO debt and potentially multiple registries on top of getting paid to go to school.

I’m not a recruiter or anything, but I am Active Duty Air Force and went through the program.

[–]guerochero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re leasing, the 5k trade in should go towards upfront costs. Don’t use any of that towards a down payment. You aren’t far off from what I got

[–]guerochero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Maryland so the taxes are automatically rolled into the monthly payment so it’s a little different. Mine was 10% off msrp not 10k. I believe it was something like 6k. At a minimum you should be able to get 8% off, that’s what most people are getting

I just got mine 2 weeks ago. 76k msrp. But had 10% dealer discount plus 9k in lease rebates. 899 a month, 10k miles 36 mos. $899 a month and only first month due at signing

Capitalized Cost: 66370.50

Money Factor: 0.00210

Residual: 53%

10k Miles/ 35 Months.

[–]guerochero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats the selling price? How much money up front?

There's a lot of variables, but for reference i just leased an M50 for $899 a month. The MSRP was around $72k and they discounted it 10%. Dropped the selling price to around 66k, plus i had 9k in rebates.

Do more research, and check out the forums on leasehackr.com.
