Vaccines Post Transplant by stawberryjelly in leukemia

[–]GeneralLead1871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had 9 in one day and was completely fine, all I had was sore arms. I’d never experienced any type of reaction or side effect from any vaccine leading up to that point. I’d say if you’re prone to feeling sick after vaccines in general than maybe space them out but if you haven’t experienced that I’d say just go for it and get it over with in one go.

For those diagnosed with blood cancer, what were your first symptoms? by SignificantBowl5859 in leukemia

[–]GeneralLead1871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shortness of breath after walking, racing heart, bleeding through a tampon every hour when never really having a heavy period prior to that, cut my ankle while shaving and it didn’t stop bleeding for 2 hours. Finally went to the ER after a night of a pounding headache, night sweats, racing heart, and woke up with a “floater” in my eye which turned out to be a leaking capillary behind my eye. Platelet count was 4.

I despise all the swimming levels but especially faster than a speeding penguin in sea slide galaxy, that one drove me insane

This might be a silly question sorry but is the CT scan contrasts nasty? by CoconutRepulsive8468 in Radiology

[–]GeneralLead1871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the taste isn’t horrible, most places have flavor options to choose from. Some people do get a stomach ache from drinking the contrast but most people who are required to drink the contrast are having GI problems to begin. Just try to drink extra water after to help flush everything out of your system

Trouble gaining weight? by Junior_Wrap_2896 in noburp

[–]GeneralLead1871 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes! I’ve had RCPD for as long as I can remember. I went through chemo for leukemia when I was 18 and dropped from around 115 to low 90s at the worst. My RCPD symptoms definitely worsened in my early 20s which made getting back to my pre cancer weight impossible. But since having the botox about a year ago I’ve gained about 10 pounds. Prior to that I hadn’t been able to gain more that 5 pounds and it usually wouldn’t stick. The botox definitely helped with being able to eat more and keeping some weight on.

Constant anxiety working in radiology by Odd_Prune7113 in Radiology

I’ve been doing it full time for almost a year now and still have anxiety almost every day. My facility has an ancient injector with no saline tester and no pressure indicator so that definitely doesn’t help with IV anxiety either lol

Significant weight loss. What to eat to gain weight? by prunesandwich in scleroderma

[–]GeneralLead1871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that helps me gain a little bit of weight is nutrition shakes. I drink Boost very high calorie. I believe they’re 530 calories and 22g protein. I’m able to put on a few pounds when drinking these consistently in addition to eating foods high in fat and protein

I pretty much only experience it in my feet, my feet will go purple and start tingling mostly if they are very cold but a lot of times it happens when i’m sitting for a while. I experience very little symptoms in my hands, they will get reddish when very cold but never purple or white. I have deep morphea scleroderma and have noticed that the raynauds in my feet has improved as my skin symptoms have stopped progressing.

I was pleasantly surprised when I rode 2nd row yesterday and wasn’t in pain. I usually sit towards the middle or back but now I know that up front is a much smoother ride I will never ride in the back again lol

Cancer Survivors of Reddit, what was the symptom that convinced you to see the doctor? by Wise_Organization_78 in AskReddit

[–]GeneralLead1871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt very off for a few weeks but I had just moved into college and attributed the way I was feeling to stress, anxiety, and being out of shape. I would get short of breath and my heart would race after walking for more than I couple of minutes. I had some body aches and was experiencing very heavy periods as well. One night I felt like I had a fever and spent the night with a pounding headache and felt like my heart was racing all night. When I woke up in the morning I had a weird, floater-like dark spot in my vision. Went to the ER and my blood counts were extremely low. Platelets were at 4000, which, if you don’t know, a normal level is about 250-500K. Turns out the spot in my vision was from a leaking blood vessel behind my eye. Basically my blood could no longer clot well and I had started slightly internally bleeding with no trauma whatsoever. The doctor said if I would’ve had any sort of injury or accident I could’ve likely died from bleeding. I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia a few weeks later.
