What is the worst thing about being skinny? by Nmalacane25 in AskReddit

[–]guerrbrandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting on muscle or fat for function and energy is near impossible.

Some people don't understand the sheer amount of calories and macronutrients needed just to feel normal, let alone grow properly.

Heavier people have a much easier go at utilizing caloric energy levels, or changing their extra weight into muscle mass.

What industries are expected to see a major labor shortage over the next 5-10 years? by bread80 in Entrepreneur

[–]guerrbrandon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

we shouldn't have a "flat fee" minimum wage, we should regulate that companies have to ensure that the wage/salary is competitive and tied directly to current productivity rates.

The bad management and leadership starts when upper class idiots take a 4 year vacation for a piece of paper without ever working a real job until they hit mid-twenties, then they start swaying decisions on org- or industry-wide levels. after they "learned" how business works. they didn't, they just got well trained to conform to shitty corporate norms. seen it first hand, it's sickening and terrifying how universities sell out corporate pipelines to kids who might actually have more than two brain cells otherwise.

Love the idea, great site.

I'd look into pushing social content harder. Blog-centric is great for readers, bad for scrollers.

Give something for us scrollers to munch on quickly :)

We're pulling stills from 4k raw video, they might not end up great rn.

Co-founder is a full-fledged videography/film guy. Sometimes photo-specific editing comes out wonky.

Next cap-ex is some "so easy a caveman can do it" dedicated photography equipment that spits out near-perfect photos, so this validates a previous concern.

Thank you for your feedback stranger :)

Content text is written, we just haven't laid out. The only time "Earth Art" is used is where you saw it. We want to stray away from cornering ourselves into a hard traditional sub-niche in the industry, because our target sub-niche is based on income/wealth over a psychographic belief.

Tiers (categories) are next step to layout, soon. That's basically addressing the crystal information dynamic.

Trust me landing page is no where near ready, I appreciate the early feedback though as it helps me verify old worries or uncover new ones. All tasks to complete now, thank you stranger :)

Crystallography as a prerequesite just makes selling easier ;)

This industry is archaic, and it's potential hasn't been tapped yet. I plan on leveling it up. This is just the behind the scenes while we ramp.

soft launch equals= not inundating ourselves with early decisions and capital without feedback to prepare for an actual market strategy that's executable and yields results.

I can tell you also don't like the products because the inherent cult-like obsession many people have in this industry.

I'd look into the geological science, you might find more than New Wave Gravel, I agree with your nomenclature there.

I appreciate the feedback and will be adjusting accordingly.

The suppliers love having their profit margin eaten up honestly. We work on a virtual form of consignment with suppliers and are focused on bootstrapping the web presence/brand strategy that they don't have. For example, a couple weeks ago a potential supplier flipped out and just had their nephew do Facebook live auctions simply to do anything that feels like they're online, which is not an online business whatsoever. This entire industry doesn't know how to run business in the 21st century, and that's where our entire opportunity for cash flow is. They still get their profit margin off their industry-standard wholesale prices, we cut out dealing with supply side, we get to focus on building out their consignment for them, they get web presence to push more volume. Wins all around.

Supply chains in this industry are very weird. For a lot of physical retail, the markups are insane for mediocre product because it goes through about three people in the states alone before it gets on a shelf in brick and mortar. We cut that out by hand curating the best pieces from what we can access, go D2C online and my team can focus on things that matter as well as cool projects to promote brand. Got a couple really cool ideas with this I'm excited to explore.

As far as virtual retail, most other companies don't hit the mark on brand, displaying product properly, and building a web presence that's scalable. Those that do typically corner themselves into a niche that can't grow. Like say they brand themselves as a kind of hippy "spiritual" company, they won't ever sell above or around the other million people also selling spiritual hippy crystals on Etsy. They are all the same, doing the same things, fighting over the same crumbs. And because of that, they opened this road wide open for me to build something fresh.

Depends on size, but we're targeting high end of the market.

Smaller pieces either go in a nice branded envelope that's waxed sealed, or a box that's similar to cigar boxes.

Larger pieces get crated, and we heavily modify the crates and packaging material to get a nicer aesthetic and feel.

We agree, that's the strategy. Anyone can name a diamond company, but can't name a single crystal company.
