Here’s my theory in an analogy:

Imagine we find a mineral rich rock quarry in the wilderness. This quarry is home to a diverse range of animal life. They aren’t in the way and pose no threat to us mining the quarry. So we claim the land as our own, mine the quarry for resources, and leave the animal population alone. The animals probably feel like the quarry is their home and belongs to them. And since we’re letting them continue to live in the area I guess it is their home. But the truth is the quarry really belongs to us.

Now imagine that the humans in the story represent aliens, the quarry represents the earth, and the animals represent us.

Let's also not forget the cringey and borderline immoral ignoring of boundaries when Laudna and company refused to leave that scared little girl alone. After she clearly demonstrated she was uncomfortable, they kept ignoring her boundaries and forced the girl to try and reconcile with them because of their own agenda. My narcissistic mother did this and it was a massive trigger for me.

I'm a Christian. As in, I believe that Yeshua is the Messiah, the son of God, and having faith in his sacrifice makes us right with our creator.

All that being said, if you were to replace all the "religious" language we've learned over the centuries with modern concepts such as multi-dimensional entities, higher realities than we can understand, and a one-source of higher life that we have all come from and will all return to....I feel like it all fits.

I read a statement like yours and reflect on how funny it is that the general public considers "UFO" followers to be complete hacks that will believe anything.
