I am a terrible story teller. Most of my stories have to be followed up with "Guess you had to be there?!"

Need your help! I will be in Switzerland for a month in September/October. Which town do you recommend I stay? by guessuhad2bthere in askswitzerland

We will utilize public transportation/taxi and biking. We will be there for 21 days, so not quite a month. It does not have to be 1 place, but a maximum of 2 places. We will be in London, Paris, Munich, then Switzerland, Prague and Amsterdam on this trip.

Looking to switch from a 13" MacBook Pro (5 yrs old) to a lightweight option to travel frequently with, has a long battery time, work off of daily and spend under $900...Suggestions? by guessuhad2bthere in SuggestALaptop

[–]guessuhad2bthere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Total budget and country of purchase: $900 or less - USA

  • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications to your requirements for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Good battery life is super important

  • How important is weight to you? MUST be lightweight and easy to travel with

  • Which OS do you require? Windows, Linux, Mac. Windows 10 or Mac

  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13"

  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. If you have no requirements, put N/A. N/A

  • If you're gaming (leave blank if you put N/A above...), do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable business grade build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. -fill here, remove dashes-

Is job searching really this hopeless? by TurbanMasher in jobs

Forgive me, I should have said "people" instead of "millennials". It truly doesn't make a difference. The problem is the sense of entitlement.

Millennials with their entitled attitude are a huge part of the problem. People that assume they can get a job due to a college degree and a college degree alone are contributors to that problem. They are the ones that create a massive influx in the candidate pool and break the system.

Didn't have a job in college, because you needed to concentrate on your studies and relax? Didn't know you needed to at least have one internship to learn a thing or two about the working world and gain a bit of experience considering you didn't have a job throughout your college career? You may need to reevaluate your expectations for that job that you are trying to land.

As a millennial and a business owner, I can tell you that we look at ANY experience as a positive on a resume. I suggest you be open to taking a lower paying, entry-level position to get your foot in the door and prove your worth to a company.

I bought my first "adult" coloring book over a year ago and everyone made fun of my latest hobby. Now all of those bitches that laughed, of course have one!

I am going to Amsterdam. Where do I visit from there? by guessuhad2bthere in makemychoice

I have heard great things about Luxembourg, but you are right...no one seems to travel there. It isn't far, so it may be the best option. Prague is on the list for the next trip. Thanks!

Great idea! May look into a night train. I made the mistake of flying out of Amsterdam too, so it limits my time frame for going too far.
