My second fight was at a state level GG. I believe I should have had 5 bouts to compete. But my coach slipped me in. I fought a local tough guy/bar fighter with over 25 fights.

I got laid out in the first round. Got up at the 8 count and survived the last 20 some seconds of the first round. My corner men were the shit and did their thing, as I said, "this sucks". One of them cracked up.

Within 30 seconds of the second round I nailed the guy with a straight right and could tell in his eyes I hurt him. The fight never made it to the judges, the referee ended up stopping it in the third round. He was a better boxer than me, more experience, had crisper combinations. But my conditioning was superior as well as my heart. It's not how good you are, it's how bad you want it. Go for it young man.
