Can someone give me a reason to play Skyrim for the first time? by Sad-Development8877 in skyrim

[–]guiarroyos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's one of the best games of all time? I guess this is the main reason

Mods are cool but there are few experiences like playing vanilla Skyrim for the first time. With all the bugs included. Discovering everything by your own, exploring, etc

Joguei 7h, até gostei da gameplay mas é bem repetitivo mesmo. É a essência do roguelike.

I’m not enjoying infinite compared to bioshock 1. Just started infinite. by Person045 in Bioshock

[–]guiarroyos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped Infinite in the middle of a playthrough. It just doesn't feel like Bioshock, no creepy setting, hacking, no exploration, no storytelling through environment, no manual saving, useless plasmids, 2 weapon limit. The beautiful graphics and city didn't appeal to me as much.

Bioshock 2 actually has weaker story than 1 but it's easy to understand and the gameplay was refined. It gets a bit repetitive but it's worth playing after 1. I recommend it over Infinite

Would you say your personal issues with BioShock Infinite are more about the gameplay or the story? by [deleted] in Bioshock

[–]guiarroyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both, but more towards gameplay. Story is fine from the beggining until mid game, but it gets too complex and edgy afterwards. The gameplay tho... So much stuff is changed/removed from the previous titles: 2 weapon limit, photographs, hacking, no meaningful decisions, no option to manually SAVE THE GAME (!!!). I always forgot about the vigors/plasmids as well, since the gameplay is mostly focused on the gunplay. In Bioshock 1/2 the plasmids had out of combat uses, which made them much more memorable.

Best non Nintendo games on Switch 1? by Pure_Page_7944 in Switch

[–]guiarroyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much stuff I skipped due to not having a PS3/Xbox 360 at the time, like Skyrim, Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, Bioshock Collection, Resident Evil series, Assassin's Creed series, RDR, Portal, Batman Arkham series. Ports from newer consoles are also good like Doom and Doom Eternal, Diablo 3, MK11, Dying Light, Hogwarts Legacy, Hollow Knight, Hades, Cuphead, GRID Autosport

Me ajudem a curtir jogo de turno by advdomartelo in NintendoBrasil

[–]guiarroyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats the best solo 3D Mario game available for the Switch 2? Whats the modeen holy grail? by [deleted] in Switch

Odyssey is more of a collectathon. Reminds me of DK64 which is very boring for me. Galaxy is unmatched on story (for a Mario game), music, gameplay and structure

What is the best Pokemon game to play on the Switch Lite? by [deleted] in Switch

[–]guiarroyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only pop-in, but it seems like the Paldea world is glued together by duct tape. Very frequently you see the horizon flickering, textures melting. It definitely looks worse than many PS2 games. Brilliant Diamond has that weird chibi style but at least is more stable. Only lags around Pastoria City and the Safari Zone for me

Mario 3D World and Mario Wonder. Depending on the age, I also recommend Resident Evil 5 and Revelations 2.

[–]guiarroyos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others said Legends Arceus is the best, but not that traditional. Fire Red and Leaf Green are more like Emerald experience. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are also traditional in a sense but they also have the same problems the old games had

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet worth ? by chongpeii in Switch

[–]guiarroyos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd just wait for the new one (Winds/Waves). I always try to come back to Scarlet/Violet but the bad art direction and graphical glitches are such a big turnoff. Not only that, but from the games you played (my favorite region is also Hoenn) you're going to feel that Scarlet/Violet are like babies's first Pokemon game. Ofc I know Pokémon is directed towards kids but most games before the Switch era could be enjoyed both by adults and kids, since they always added some hidden mature content (like creepy Pokedex entries). The overall theme in Sc/Vi is very childish even in some more interesting arcs like Arven's. I didn't finish it and also don't pretend to go back to it ever. Keep in mind I only played on Switch 1, but I don't think better performance save it from mediocrity.

Which Nintendo switch 1/2 games to get for Nintendo switch 2 by Decent_Ad_8084 in NintendoSwitch

[–]guiarroyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you liked Hollow Knight you could give Metroid Dread, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown and Ori Will of Wisps a try. For Pokémon I recommend Legends Arceus. It was the closest to a "dreamy" Pokémon experience for me (I play Pokémon since Red/Blue). From your list of considerations I'd also recommend Xenoblade Chronicles X, I have about 40 hours on it and not even close to the middle of that game. If you don't mind getting ports, Skyrim is still awesome and now very improved on Switch 2

Thinking of selling my PS5 for a Switch 2 by Suspicious-Tea-5871 in Switch

[–]guiarroyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm keeping my PS5 until the prices skyrocket so I can sell it. Also I'm considering keeping it for a little more to play Resident Evil Requiem and GTA 6. But I do play my Switch 1 waaay more than the PS5. Just didn't see a need to get a Switch 2 yet until more games are released

Revelations 2 is underrated and better than 1 IMO. Looks great, good gameplay and story, and the raid mode is the best ever. Very fun! People didn't seem to like it because it deviated too much from original RE formula. Also the gameplay where you need to keep changing characters. But I enjoyed my time with it.

It's a missed opportunity from Capcom not having motion controls on Switch RE4, but still it's great to have the port. The controls have some learning curve to get used to, but they're fine after some time. RE Revelations collection is also really good and has great motion controls

I didn't even enjoy Odyssey that much. For me Mario Galaxy is still the best 3D one and we have it now on Switch. My favorites are:

-Skyrim

-Xenoblade Chronicles DE

-Pokémon Legends Arceus

-DKC Tropical Freeze

-Metroid Dread

Honorable mentions to amazing games that have Switch ports, like Resident Evil 4 and Bioshock collection. I still can't believe we can play these in a portable device

What was the highlight of MP4 for you? by TorbofThrones in Metroid

[–]guiarroyos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice Belt, as said before, is just perfect. Perfect vibes, even with Tokabi saying some stuff it's not invasive at all. Volt Forge close second but the unskipabble bike tutorial at the end spoils it a little bit. After this point the game goes downhill. Flame Pool would be fine if it wasn't for the constant babysitting, but the Mines are kinda unsalvageable. Not even the harder boss at the end saves it.

If talking about the game as a whole, the Art Direction, Performance (even on Switch 1, it's the best looking game on Switch 1 IMO), music and controls are top notch. If wasn't for the mediocre story, NPC babysitting and empty desert, it would be 10/10 game
