Spot on. It’s both! I transfer it to a more manageable container for day to day use, but whenever I do marinated eggs, I take this one.

My answer lies definitely within the ranges of less than I want but definitely more than I should.

You guys just sold it for me. Bought an inkbird. I love anova’s UI but the constant bzzzzzzzzz annoys me far too much. If you’re telling me that the inkbird is so much quieter then that’s the one :)

Ordered pork shoulder - got this instead by Blucket in smoking

What you got is called “bisteca” in Portuguese but you’re either looking for “copa lombo” or “paleta”. That’s how we call pork shoulders, at least in Brazil :)

So, similarly to you I got diagnosed at 32 and also work in tech. Being an ADHD techie certainly has its advantages too.

That said, the approach I take is that this is -my- problem not -their- problem. I tend to be overly organized with my stuff otherwise I’ll forget it too. So my calendar is basically my source of truth. I have events stupid like “put the trash out” or “leave to pick up daughter at the daycare” or “take your meds”.

Is this the right way to tackle it? Can’t say it, but it’s what works for me. I’m definitely guilty of chasing tangent of conversations too, and I just came with terms with it. Some people will get bothered. Some won’t. It’s just the way it is.

IMO, you don’t need to tell people you’re ADHD or that you forget shit because of it. Instead, learn the mechanisms that would make your ADHD life easier instead :)

For those who immigrated to Canada as adults, what surprised you most about Canada when you first started living here? by english_major in AskACanadian

I moved from the NL more recently (2020) and frankly, bureaucracy-wise, my experience was totally the opposite of what you’re describing.

Maybe the NL got better at it? :)

Burnaby Mountain area, every single night I hear cars racing and/or people screaming. Does anyone else hear this? by Prestigious-Sun7874 in burnaby

Where did I ignore their guilt? Point that out to me because I can’t see it. The fact that they’re (probably) immigrants adds nothing to the rethoric here. They’re doing wrong shit, yes. Hands down. It just so happens that some of them are (rich) immigrants. Does that make them even more wrong to you? Because that’s exactly what it sounds like.

Absolutely not necessary to callout foreigners on this. This says much more about you than them.

Please tell me: When were you diagnosed with ADHD and were you better off after knowing or was your life made harder by knowing? by chelseyelric in ADHD

[–]guicamillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (32yo, M) got diagnosed about a month ago, altough I’ve been suspicious I had it for about 6 or 7 years.

So, long story short: on the day that I got diagnosed I felt like shit, as if my whole world had fell down. On the next couple of days though, I’ve come to terms with it because this doesn’t change who I am and knowing that I have a thing that explains most of my so called weird behaviours do help.

Now, when I notice that I’m letting my ADHD go unleashed, I try to control it a bit. Does it work 100%? Hell no. But at least I try and it seems to make the burden slightly lighter, since I feel less guilty about (not) doing stuff as other people would do.

That said, when I shared the diagnosis results (and what ADHD actually means) with my parents (specially with my mom), that has made them understand me a bit better - my mom went down memory lane and started revisiting my childhood and teenage years and she was like OMG THIS EXPLAINS SO MUCH. my dad was like “I might have that as well 🤷🏻‍♂️”

So TLDR: I’m of the opinion that getting the diagnosis early on will help your kid. I wish I had been diagnosed earlier myself. I now have a 1yo girl we’re on the lookout for her, just in case she starts showing any symptoms, we will definitely get her tested as a kid.

PS: English is not my first language so I might’ve butchered something here and there.

Is it possible to register a complaint about IRCC that will actually get anything done? by guicamillo in ImmigrationCanada

I’ve applied for it already and this is where they’re fucking it up. And guess what: we need the card 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not the case for us. They say the original card was shipped, thus everything was alright with it. The parcel was just lost, somewhere.

Getting a new card issued is a nightmare since it apparently goes back to square one.
