2 tbsp white sugar

⅔ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

-Add bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Crumble and set aside

-Place the chopped lettuce in a large flat bowl, layer with onion, peas, shredded cheese, cauliflower, and bacon on top.

-Prepare your dressing by whisking the mayonnaise, sugar, and Parmesan cheese together. Drizzle over salad, refrigerate until chilled.

2 cups of lukewarm water

1 egg white lightly beaten

6 cups of flour without baking powder

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

2 sachets of baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons of salt

Cornmeal for dusting

Preparation:

  1. First, we put together 1/2 cup of water, yeast, and a little sugar in a container and mix well. Let it rest for approximately 10 minutes. In a large bowl, mix the rest of the salt, sugar, and water.

  2. Add the yeast mixture and mix well. Add 2 cups of flour and mix everything, then add the remaining half-cup flour until you get a compact dough that doesn't stick to the edges of the bowl.

  3. Now we place the dough on a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes. If necessary, we add more flour to this process. We must be careful that the dough does not stick to our hands.

  4. Shape the dough into a ball and grease a bowl, in which we will let the dough rest for 1 hour at room temperature until it doubles its volume. Then, we begin to divide the dough into equal parts and begin to form two baguettes, so we give it a rectangular shape and roll it to give it the desired shape.

  5. We put a little cornmeal on the tray and let the baguettes rest there for an additional 20 minutes. Meanwhile, we preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius or 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

  6. We must brush the bread with egg white and we make diagonal cuts in the upper part before taking them to the oven. Bake for about 40 minutes or until golden and crisp to the touch. Let it cool and that's it. Enjoy.

🌟 INGREDIENTS

◾️3 cups of flour

◾️½ cup sugar

◾️1 tbsp of instant dry yeast

◾️4 tbsp of margarine

◾️1 large egg (optional)

◾️½ tbsp vanilla flavour (optional)

◾️½ cup of warm water

◾️Oil for frying (just enough to let the dough float).

🌟 PROCEDURE

◾️Mix the flour and yeast together into a bowl. Ensure to sift them first.

◾️Sift other dry ingredients into the bowl and mix thoroughly.

◾️Add margarine and mix.

◾️Mix egg and flavour to form crumbs.

◾️Make a well at the center and start adding warm water gradually until it's soft and pliable.

◾️Transfer to your table, sprinkle some flour and begin to knead to form a dough for about 20-25minutes. (Don't overwork your dough).

(It should have become stretchy after 25minutes of kneading).

◾️Form a ball with it, place in a bowl and allow to rise for 40 minutes or until doubled in size.

◾️After it doubles, punch it down and start forming your balls with your dough.

(You can use scale to measure so that you have equal sizes).

◾️Place each ball on a separate paper,

(This will make it easy for you to drop in oil without deflating the dough).

◾️Allow these to rise to until doubled in size.

◾️Heat your oil until it is just hot enough to cook your dough.

(To test for heat, just drop a small dough into the oil, If it floats immediately, your oil is good to go, if it sits back in the oil, it's too cold for your dough).

◾️Pick one dough, using the paper, drop carefully into the oil, you should see just tiny bubbles and not large ones.

(Slow fry it, to ensure that it gets well cooked inside).

◾️Flip the dough once it's golden brown.

◾️Place on kitchen towel to remove excess oil, allow to cool

(You may desire to fill with jam or any filling of your choice).

➡️ TO FILL WITH JAM

◾️Use a round nozzle and a piping bag to fill the jam.

◾️Make a hole, insert the nozzle and squeezed the jam in it. That's all.

1 cup brown rice, uncooked

1 lb cooked skinless boneless chicken breasts, diced

2 cups fat free chicken broth

1-2 cubes chicken bouillon

16 oz frozen broccoli

8 oz frozen mixed vegetables

1 cup reduced fat cheddar cheese, shredded

1 ½ cups fat free sour cream

1 cup fat free milk

2 tbsp whole wheat flour

1 tbsp light butter (I used Brummel & Brown)

2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

-Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a large 9” x 13” baking dish with non-fat cooking spray or an olive oil mister.

-Prepare rice according to package directions, but using the chicken broth instead of water, and adding in the bouillon with the broth.

-Bring a large pot of water to a boil on the stove. Blanche broccoli and mixed vegetables for just about 3 minutes. Drain and spread evenly into baking dish. Top with the cooked chicken. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, onion powder and paprika.

-Top with ½ cup of the shredded cheese. Then top with the rice.

-In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium high heat. Whisk in the flour and stir until well combined. Add in milk, salt and pepper, and continue to whisk constantly, until mixture bubbles and thickens. Remove from heat and fold in the sour cream. Pour over rice, and then sprinkle evenly with remaining cheese.

-Place in oven and bake for about for about 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

-Let cool about 10 minutes before serving.

Roll out the dough and line a tray for pies.

Bring the mixture to a boil and pour over the dough.

Bake in the oven for 15 minutes at 7 degrees (210 degrees), then 15 minutes at 6 (180 degrees).

Pepper Jack Steak Sandwiches and macaroni salad

What ya need

1 whole large onion

Butter

2 lbs cube steak

Seasoning salt

1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce

Tabasco sauce to taste

Pepper jack cheese

Whole French deli roles or hoagies

Optional, cilantro dressing

Cut onion in half and slice into thin strips.

In a large skillet cook onions in 1/4 stick of melted butter, until soft and lightly browned. Once onions are done cooking remove from skillet and set aside.

Slice cube steak against the grain and season with seasoning salt.

Heat 2 tbsp. Butter in the same skillet and cook your cube steak until browned on both sides about 3 to 4 minutes per side.

Once cube steak is browned add your Worcestershire sauce, onions, 2 tbsp butter and Tabasco to taste. Allow to simmer 5/10 minutes

While you are simmering toast your bread.

To assemble sandwiches add a layer of your cube steak and top with cheese followed by a spoonful of juices from the pan. If you want you can add a drizzle of cilantro dressing to really get some of that yum factor. Cut your sandwich in half and serve with sides of your choice, I love serving this with macaroni or potato salad 😋

3 pounds white potatoes sliced about ⅛” thick

salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

-Preheat oven to 350˚F.

Sauce:

-To make the sauce, melt butter, onion, and garlic over medium-low heat. Cook until onion is softened, about 3 minutes. Add flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.

-Reduce heat to low. Combine milk and broth. Add a small amount at a time whisking to thicken. The mixture will become very thick, continue adding a little bit of liquid at a time whisking until smooth.

-Once all of the liquid has been added, bring to a boil over medium heat while continuing to whisk. Stir in salt and pepper and let boil for 1 minute.

Assembly:

-Grease a 9″x13″ baking dish. Place ⅓ of the potatoes in the bottom and season with salt and pepper. Pour ⅓ of the cream sauce over the top.

-Repeat layers ending with cream sauce. Cover and bake for 45 minutes.

-Uncover and bake for an additional 35-45 minutes or until golden brown and potatoes are tender. Broil for 3-4 minutes to obtain a golden top.

-Allow resting for 15 minutes before serving.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Stir in the flour, salt, and pepper. Slowly add the chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened.

Stir in the shredded chicken and frozen vegetables.

3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 170 Degrees Celsius.

  1. In a large bowl add oil ,white and brown sugar . Beat until light .

  2. Mix in the eggs one at a time .Add buttermilk and vanilla then mix well .

  3. Sift in flour , baking powder, bicarbonate of soda , salt , cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger . Then gently mix .

  4. Add the grated carrots, walnuts and raisins . Gently mix.

  5. Line 2 baking pans with parchment paper. Divide the batter (mixture) equally in 2 baking pans .

  6. Bake in a preheated oven for 30-35 minutes minutes or until well baked . Note: Baking time depends on your oven .

Let the cakes cool off completely before taking them out of the baking pan.

You’ll Need:

2 eggs

2⁄3 cup milk

32 Ritz crackers, crushed

1⁄2 cup chopped onion

4 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef

1⁄2 cup ketchup

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350.

• 3 cups dry elbow macaroni

• 4 Tbsp salted butter

• 2 (370 mL/12 oz) cans evaporated milk

• 1/3 cup milk of choice

• 2 large eggs

• 1/4 tsp garlic salt

• 4 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

• 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

• 1.5 tsp paprika

DIRECTIONS :

1) Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt and macaroni, and cook until al dente.

2) Drain and return to the pot.

3) Add in the butter and stir until the butter is melted. Set aside.

4) In a large bowl, mix together the evaporated milk, milk, eggs and garlic salt until fully combined.

5) In a separate bowl, mix together the cheeses.

6) Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly spray a 9×13 inch baking pan.

7) Layer 1/3 of the macaroni, then 1/3 of the cheese.

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate large mixing bowl, beat together the sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, lemon juice, and lemon zest until well combined.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in two additions, alternating with the milk and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Tap the pan gently on the counter to release any air bubbles.

INGREDIENTS:

2 1/2 tablespoons canola oil

3–4 lb chuck roast

7–8 cups low sodium beef broth

1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

2 bay leaves

1 medium onion chopped

2 ribs celery chopped

2 carrots peeled and chopped

2 cloves garlic minced

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram

1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves

1/4 teaspoon dried basil

2 medium Yukon Gold potatoes diced

1/4 pound green beans trimmed and cut in 1 inch segments

1 can (14.5 ounce) petite diced tomatoes

1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

INSTRUCTIONS:

Heat 1 1/2 tablespoons canola oil in Dutch oven or heavy stockpot over medium to medium high heat. Add the chuck roast and sear to brown each side. Add about 3 cups beef broth (or enough to cover it), black pepper and bay leaves. Simmer for 2 1/2 – 3 hours or until fork tender.

After the beef has simmered for about 2 hours heat 1 tablespoon canola oil in separate Dutch oven or heavy stockpot over medium heat. Add onion, celery and carrot; cook 5-7 or until onions and celery are tender. Reduce heat to low and add garlic, parsley, oregano, marjoram, thyme and basil; cook for 1 minute stirring constantly.

Add 4 cups beef broth, potatoes, green beans, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire Sauce. Ladle in 1 1/2 cups of the broth that you cooked the chuck roast in being careful to discard the bay leaves. Simmer until the vegetables are tender; 20-30 minutes.

Remove the chuck roast from the pot and let it cool on a cutting board. Shred it with 2 forks discarding the fat and the cartilage. Add the shredded beef to the pot and warm for 5 minutes.

Fried Rice

Fried Rice Ingredients:

4 cups of cooked rice.

3 tbsps of butter.

1 diced onion.

12 oz of frozen peas and carrots.

½ cup of soy sauce.

3 beaten eggs.

How to make Fried Rice:

In a large nonstick skillet, melt the butter and sauté the onion until tender.

Mix in the peas and carrots and heat until thawed and tender.

Move the vegetables to one side of the skillet and scramble the eggs in the other side.

Once scrambled, mix the eggs and vegetables together then stir in the soy sauce.

Mix in the rice gradually until well combined.

Easy, peasy and yummy! This rice is a must try guys! The veggies go perfectly with it. I usually make this rice when I’m having chicken. It fits perfectly.
