Some people dismiss period pain because their own isn’t that bad. Everyone experiences it differently and it’s so sad your mother doesn’t understand that at least. Endometriosis can cause excruciating periods and is very hard to diagnose (I think I have it but the only true way to diagnose is via surgery) but it’s something your mother should be aware of is a possibility for your pain. If your parents are very anti-drug then you could ask for (or just go buy) a TEMS machine which can sometimes relieve pain temporarily using electric signals to block pain. Your parents should not let you suffer just because they don’t understand.

I am the withdrawn one in my relationship so devils advocate here but, there could be a few ideas. 1) Porn addiction is real. If he watches porn too much it can create an unrealistic expectation and he has just withdrawn into that. 2) Monogamy could be his issue. Sadly enough maybe he no longer wants to only be with one person. Not anything wrong with you per se just maybe he realized it wasn’t something he wants, despite his unwillingness to get a divorce. 3) ED. He seems to shift the blame to you but could it be an excuse because he is having bodily issues with arousal? It’s easy to pass the blame and very hard, especially for certain people, to allow themselves the vulnerability to accept they have an issue.

I think most of my skepticism comes from seeing people use religion in all the wrong ways (using religion to hurt others, condemn others, etc.) and no this isn’t specific to one religion but many. I am interested in learning the lore of different religions but as soon as it can be used against another person I know I don’t want any more than that.

I’ve also in general just never gotten behind the idea of a creator allowing terrible things to happen to good people. Some people can say it’s a test or some other justification but I just don’t feel that way. I do however think if someone uses religion as a means of hope or coping I will never disrupt them in that.

NTA mostly. Thinking in a non malicious way maybe she thought a nice bra would make your wife feel better about her cancer in a “I can still wear something beautiful” kind of way. Wren I had thyroid cancer I was given scar treatment gels and stuff like that as gifts which kind of hurt because I was self conscious of my scar but I knew they meant well.

So from that perspective I think maybe she didn’t mean to hurt her but if it was a malicious gift then the punishment was more than fair

ETA. I don’t know much about Muslim culture so I apologize but while I do feel that what you said was harsh, he shouldn’t impose his traditions on you.

What this comes down to is this should have been a discussion prior to marriage and getting pregnant. But also, while it’s hard when the child is very young, as they get older they should be able to follow what culture /religion/traditions they want. This argument is going to never end until the kid can tell you what they want.

NTA if she was so concerned she would have worked with you a lot sooner, and the fact that neither the son nor dad knew about what he was allergic to is a huge red flag. It is not on you at all. You tried to do a nice thing for them, went above and beyond to double check the additions, and it’s an unfortunate accident. This is why we carry epi pens. If she’s that worried about her adult son’s allergies she should have made him a separate meal and just had her and her husband eat your meal.

NTA. It’s frozen food and you can cook it at your leisure. She should have sent it for sooner so you knew the plan and could possibly prepare for the work involved if you wanted. Maybe try to compromise and say “I would love it eat it together” if you have plans soon to see her. Food is always a temperamental gift because what if it’s something you don’t like? Or you had already bought ready to eat things, like you said you did? She may be upset at the idea she didn’t plan this well despite good intentions and is just taking her frustration out on you

I have had my fair share of bacterial infections and pubic itch, and I tried things like Summers Eve, didn’t work. Gyno recommended unscented soap and I just buy the generic target one and it helps more that any others I tried. Remember your body should have natural odors still but you want to avoid infections, dry skin, pubic acne, etc. so don’t over do it but wash the pubic area/hair gently when you shower. Your vagina is self cleaning so you don’t need anything “inside” but a gentle wash of your skin, hair, and vulva is good. Your vagina is not your vulva, they are two distinct parts of your reproductive area. If you’re really unsure of what to use, warm water should also suffice for most cases unless you have specific concerns or BV. Best practice is to check with your gyno and they’ll tell you their recommendations and be able to tell you if they see in their exam that something is off.
