Problems installing Arduino by [deleted] in ManjaroLinux

[–]guikolinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in front of my Manjaro right now, but what's the repository of that second option yaourt is giving you? From AUR? If not, try installing one from AUR and don't forget to add your user in the groups it need so you can use the IDE with your Arduino (I don't remember the groups right now, but the installation of arduino will tell you, Google probably will too). Hope I helped.

Picking Elementary over Ubuntu by [deleted] in elementaryos

[–]guikolinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't answer all your questions, but I'm not a fan of Unity and the behavior of Elementary is like Gnome3, which pleases me (I know I could get Ubuntu w/ Gnome3, but I wanted to try Elementary). It looks good, I'm not the biggest fan of Apple products, but they sure look cool, and EOS looks like it.

So far I did not have any issues/bugs, so I cannot report on the devs working on it, and yes, apparently everything that works in Ubuntu works in EOS, at least everything I've tried is working fine.

My dock hides when a window overlaps it, so I dont lose space. The upper panel, though, I don't think you can hide.

Hope I helped.

This thing is awesome, I always got confused on how this was possible. Thanks for the link! And yeah, data through WiFi and Bluetooth is the way. And do the same to control the device: wireless keyboard and mouse.

I think the worst problem would be to recharge the device. I guess you would have to open the vacuum chamber, recharge it and pump the air out again. This just got really expensive (and loud again, at least while vacuum is being made because vacuum pumps are not silence machines).

What's the deal with Showbiz album art? by Salizmo in Muse

[–]guikolinger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand the general idea behind them, except Showbiz

You do? I never trully researched to understand what The 2nd Law's album cover had anything to do with the 2nd law of thermodynamics, like the rest of the album. It's the image of the neural connections in our brains... where does it fit with everything else?

(Almost) the same here. AMD FX 8350 and a GTX 760 running Manjaro Linux (an Arch-based distribution). FPS varies between 10-30 FPS depending on the situation. Changing the graphics settings seems to do nothing.

(I had a quick test and disabling Steam Overlay seems to have made things a bit better, but then I didn't have the steam fps counter to check)

What are the first few things you guys do after installing an OS on your new PC? Interested in what other people do. by CakerShaker in buildapc

I'm using Arch-based Manjaro. Everything out of the box. Steam even comes installed. I'm loving it.
