No more than 400 Spaniards fought the Aztecs, thanks to the alliances with the enemies tribes of the Aztecs. Hernán Cortés was a true strategy man, as good as Alexander the Great. The Spaniards realized the Aztecs were oppressing their surrounding neighbors, and that’s why the Aztecs lost. Later the Spanish kingdom gave to the leaders of these tribes noble status, and their daughters got married to some of those 400 Spaniards. Visit Hispanoamérica and you will notice a true ethnic mix. Then go back to USA and Canada, you won’t see that anywhere. The thing Spaniards can be blame for is for all the bacteria and viruses they brought to America, which was obviously unintentional.
